Not just religion, he started a family. That's what took the fight mentality away from him the most. Happens to a lot of fighters. It softens them up. Some can still flip the switch come fight time, but a lot can't.

I think there's truth to this.

I think fighting was really important to Rory, once he lost to Lawler, and more importantly, realized where he ranked in the premier organization, the UFC, his desire plummeted.

Was never the same fighter after that war with Lawler.
Even Lawler himself only had one more really good fight in him against Condit and his career went down the toilet with him looking worse and worse ever since

Cooper's TDD held up so well his last fight. Rory was only a favorite because of his name. He looked terrified to trade with Cooper too.

Considering how terrible Lima looked in his last fight, it's really funny how noting ago people thought Bellator had the best fighters at 170.

I hope Cooper goes to the UFC, though I wouldn't blame him if he stayed. He makes a lot of money.

Rory fucked around. It's a damn shame, he seemed poised as the next big thing at 170 to replace GSP. But Robbie Lawler shut that down quick.
 
Canadian Psycho was much better indeed. It actually fit him back then. I mean, Ares? Why are you Ares? Red King? Tony Ferguson deserves that title but his own is good enough.\
Getting beaten up so much you bleed a mask of crimson and calling yourself the Red King is just stupid.

Now he's the Canadian Born Again Christian and his fights reflect that.

Imo he received permanent brain damage from the Lawler fights. Everything points to it. His different reaction times, mood swings, personality changes...etc . He should retire immideatly and should have some time ago. The noncommital approach is part of his injuries. Kinda poor guy.

This, Canadian Psycho name fit him well. And low key Rory was crazy, especially in his early interviews where he would say weird stuff and have that bone chilling stare lol
