He just lost to a top 30 ranked Ray Cooper III. Rory got dominated on the ground for 3 rounds, couldn't get of his back. He also didn't win the striking exchange. It was a comfortable win for Ray.
Rory is now 1:2 in PFL. He was 3:2:1 in Bellator.
Rory is only 32 years of age and can't seem to find his rhythm outside the ufc, he is losing against lower ranked fighters.

Yeah, he also was fighting in the UFC when he was 19 years old, which means he's had a LONG MMA career at the ripe old age of 32 years.

His resume for who he beat in the UFC speaks for itself, and since then he's been a big name in smaller orgs and getting big checks. Good for him.

Threads like this, bashing one of the greatest 'Just Bleed' fighters in the sport's history, is just one of the many reasons why Sherdog has zero credibility with anyone that actually works in the sport.

He should be 2-1 in PFL. No way he should have lot the nod against Tibau.

He did well in Bellator. It's hard to believe the guy that did well in the grappling exchanges with Neiman Gracie is the guy that got outgrappled by Ray Cooper.

Cooper also has two wins over Jake Shields and won one of these PFL tournaments. Seems like maybe he is good?

Shields was like 40 when he lost those fights. Seems like maybe he is beating guys who are past their prime?

The post you quoted didnt bash Rory at all just stated the obvious that now he is a journey fighter and its true. You are right Rory is one of the greatest because he gave it all vs. Lawler and got out of these fights with serious head trauma that will never heal up. Thats why in fight age he is much older than 40. Its sad and he is a legend but everyone calling him a bad fighter right now is also right. Its time to hang em up.-

Once his nose became fragile he hasn’t been the same. Inlooom at guys like him and Meij though and wonder what could have been if not shop worn by 28.

He also beat Aleksakhin this season who's a legit guy, Cooper is just a good fighter.

Obviously Rory is also way past prime at the same time.

He was never quite the same after Lawler destroyed his nose
I think part of that was he clearly had enough and quit in the fight. Not trying to bash him but he definitely wasn't dropped due to concussive force or anything but just due to pain. With the judges releasing the scorecards that he was up in that fight I bet the fact that he gave up is something that will always allow him to mentally quit when it gets tough

Rory chased the $$$ outside the UFC and hopefully invested well. His heart is not in it anymore, and he lost the million dollar prize.

I think he should hang them up, or maybe one more retirement fight if he can bank. He’s young, hopefully he heals up and avoids long term damage.

I didn't say it wasn't true.

Saying the obvious when everyone already knows the obvious practically is bashing with the tone.

Agreed.

But, at this point, Rory's willing to take a beating, additional CTE, and be on a no-namer's highlight reel for a paycheck.
