That said - everybody in attendance should be safe. Jumping into the audience to start a brawl is not acceptable.

Hmmm, it's no worse than what most kids see in movies, video games, and the internet. I guess som people just view MMA differently. But i personally don't view it as a barbaric event. Especially nowadays. I'm 30 and was exposed to the UFC when it originally came out via vhs with my dad. I was very young in the 90's. Hopefully my 4 month old son will enjoy MMA with me. Of course you have to take the time to educate your kids on what they're watching but i really feel like for most kids with proper guidance its harmless.

Did you watch the entire video? This is the most sensible Ronda I've ever heard, possible the ONLY time she's come across as sensible. Yeah, the comment on bringing kids was dumb, but remember she's 100% WWE now so she has that industry on her mind, and that industry needs kids at shows.

The most interesting of her comments was "if you're going to draw a line you should draw it earlier than that", or her comments on preferential treatment for stars even if they have felonies or DUIs. (paraphrasing from memory here)

This could be the only interview with her where I found myself agreeing with what she had to say.

I've never been to an MMA event, so I honestly don't know how hostile an environment it is, or if people are more or less drunk than the ones attending your general soccer match.

I've been to a few UFC events, and it isn't a big deal. I can imagine soccer fans being far more drunk and violent, in fact as a soccer referee I've been to games where brawls started and spilled into the crowds.

I can't imagine bringing kids to this violent an event, though. Maybe fifteen years and older, and when I was fifteen I was going to punk shows that were FAR more violent than any MMA crowd.
