Ronda Rousey Responds Beth Correa

I think it is only an issue because of the nickname they have, which is supposed to have come from fans. If she just trained and hung out with them we wouldn't even be talking about it.

Exactly...they chose to use the name that's based off something with a true legacy for excellence (in wrestling of course), and so far they aren't even close to living up to it or representing it properly

They could be a team by any other name and it would be fine, but using "4 horsemen/women" invites even more people to say something. As a fan of Flair and the original Horsemen, I look at the crew as a joke

That being said, let's see a mixed division tag team mma match with Ronda and Marina vs Bethe and Cyborg

Haha...stretching it a bit much?? Ronda's not ducking. Everyone agrees that Bethe needs a few more fights to prove she's ready for Ronda. The reality is Ronda was giving Bethe props for marketing/hyping herself off of her wins against the horsewomen. Bethe put her name in people's mouths but that doesn't mean she's any where near Ronda's level athletically.

LOL. yeah, I am joking. But it does have some truth to it though.

While I agree with you that Bethe doesn't really deserve yet a title shot, it was Ronda herself who said literally that if she managed to beat another member of her team, she would have already proved herself and would be worthy of fighting Ronda.
Now she is saying she needs more fights. And while this is obviously true, it does seem like she is "changing her tune" a bit.

Imagine if someone upsets Rousey after that.

Never gonna happen, Ronda is now officially the first genuinely invincible fighter we have seen in MMA largely due to just how ridiculously far behind all the other women are.

Jon Jones took the UFC belt at 23, with 3 years experience. and walked thru 5 former champs. Mens mma must be in the dark ages too

It kind of is in some respects.

20 years isn't a very long time.

Look at the NFL in it's first 20 years compared to now.

Completely different, Jones had to become a truly masterful MMA fighter in every single aspect and execute the most intelligent game plans out of all the guys he was up against and had numerous fights in defense of his title that were more competitive than all Rousey's title fights combined. He was not taking on elite fighters and finishing almost all of them in the first round and finishing many in under a minute. And he has actually lost rounds before; with Ronda it is not clear that there will ever be a WMMA fighter who can even come close to winning a round of MMA against her. Ronda and Jon Jones are completely different situations, not comparable at all.

No the LHW division has always been a little lean on tallent.. alot of em are old schoolers. And jon jones posses a reach no one in ufc has and youth none of em have.. so yes rhonda is in a beneficial position.. womens mma has yet to catch up.. she is not exceptional, she is good, the rest of the women in ufc are average..
