Media Ronda rediscovers her love for MMA

Just come back for a fight with Kayla. She (Ronda) has two losses already and Kayla has surpassed her in judo so it wouldn't be that big of a deal if she lost.

to be fair (and correct me if i'm wrong) she quit judo when he lost on a big stage for the first time.
she was also very sour and made a lot of excuses for that loss.

She had many losses prior to that. Her Judo record over 6 years of international competition was 56-19 and she had 5 losses in 2008 alone, the year she took bronze at the Olympics.


Her poor sportsmanship in MMA just doesn't make any fucking sense to me. She probably has a sociopathic competitor streak and just can't turn it off.

I mean she kinda was for a time.

UFC still doesn't have anyone that touches Ronda or Conor in crossover appeal and popularity, and it's really not even all that close.

Nevermind at that time she had every magazine, tv show, movies, all sorts of things telling her she was the best thing ever, and queen.

That goes to 99% of the heads you know, including yours, if ever talented enough to encounter anything near that level popularity. But you won't.

I remember on the back of my USJA card had Roosevelt's quote. Many here could reflect on it and measure their own achievements:

The reason I bring it up is I speculate a lot of guys who dropped out of community college working at a hardware store seem to be the biggest critics of success.

Folks like to shit on Ronda's mom and I don't get it. In interviews she just comes off like a well-meaning mother with common sense. She has 3 other daughters and I don't think any of them even train Judo. She was calling out Tarverdyan as a conman years before Ronda flamed out but said it was Ronda's choice and she respected that.

I think @Clark Rogers called it in the post above. Ronda got thrown into the spotlight pretty young with the entire world kissing her ass and she just bought into her own bullshit.

I'm not big on social media. Genuinely, is the idea that people usually unsubscribe/unfollow people and things when they lose interest pretty standard? Or do people just sort of leave their follows going?

For instance, if she had 17 million followers 10 years ago, is her still having that number at indication of current popularity?

Edit* not that I know her follower count history or the engagement level they have? I'm sure her WWE career really helped continue launching those numbers since she left UFC

All you have to look at is the engagement of her posts. Especially if she posts something martial arts related.

Don't overestimate my knowledge or familiarity with engagement. I follow no one. I don't even have accounts on most sites. I can Google the numbers 18,446 engagement per post, 18,136 average likes per post, and 309 average comments per post, but then I have no frame of reference for any of that. It's clearly active, but you could tell me LeBron gets the same, or twice that, or ten times that and I could believe you either way

Don't get me wrong, she acted like a tool, but she came to the UFC at what, 25-26, was immediately made a massive pop culture figure, and had everyone telling her she was the greatest thing ever.

I don't know many in their 20s, even early 30s, that are really mentally equipped for that kind of thing, and wouldn't have it go to their heads.

well, the loss at the olympics is the biggest of her career and she took it very badly.
