I used to think Ronda could beat Cyborg: Cyborg used to fight really aggressively and if she did that against Ronda, she'd get Judo tossed and arm barred.
Cyborg is way more technical nowadays though and after seeing Ronda get destroyed by Holly and Nunes, I thought the same thing would happen if she fought Cyborg.
However, after seeing Holly being able to hold Cyborg against the cage, I think Ronda has a good chance at beating Cyborg, IMO. Holly moved away when she held Cyborg by the cage. If Ronda was in that position, she would have tried to take Cyborg down with an inside or outside trip like she's done to other opponents and Tonya Evinger was able to easily take Cyborg down with a trip.
If Ronda doesn't try to bullrush Cyborg and if she is more patient, then she could get Cyborg to the cage and take her down. She definitely has the physical strength to hold Cyborg by the cage and she could hit her with some knees to the liver like she did to Sara McMann. She was able to finish McMann with a liver shot and I'm surprised Cyborg's opponents don't hit her in the body more. That's the only way they're going to slow her down, in my opinion.
Also, Cyborg hit Holly with an abundance of hard shots and she was unable to finish Holly, even though Holly was lunging in with punches and Ronda can take a shot.
Ronda's got to stop thinking she's an elite striker though: if she tries to box with Cyborg she'll get knocked out.
People might say the fight would go the same way the Nunes fight did, but Nunes throws long looping punches. Cyborg doesn't strike like that and she doesn't have the lateral movement of Holly so it would be easier for Ronda to get Cyborg to the cage.
I'm not saying she will beat Cyborg, but after seeing how Holly was able to easily hold Cyborg by the cage, I really think Ronda stands a chance.
