For sure the biggest question mark on this matchup. It's hard to know who'd win even if Rob is 100%. Really hoping we get this fight under the best circumstances.
I picked RW in the first fight, for some reason I don't see him avoiding final destination twice in a row, especially after surgery/staph.I liked this fight the first time. I still like it. It's hard to call because both guys have the tools to get it done. I think Whittaker beats him again, but Romero can flatline any MW at any point in the fight.
This is what I'm afraid of. Romero has talked about how the Whittaker fight changed his outlook on fighting and made him learn more about pacing from Jones. If he goes with a striking oriented gameplan he can pace himself better and catch Whittaker. Still a 50/50 imo, though.I like Whittaker very much and he´s a very tough guy. He is a bad match for all the grapplers in the division with his excellent tdd, footwork and striking.
But imo Romero lacked that killer instinct in the 1st fight and he spent too much energy trying to take Whittaker down (obviously he didn´t expect Whittaker's tdd to be that good and stop all the td). I think he´s gonna correct that mistake and try to pressure Bobby a little more to finish the fight on the feet this time before the 5th round.
