Yoel Romero is the best 3 round fighter at MW. He would have won if him/whittaker fought 3 rounds. That being said if he doesn't finish Rockhold inside 3 I can see him losing a decision or getting TKOd in rd 4/5. Romero will probably take rd 4 off altogether if it gets that far and look to explode in 5.

Yeah, his cardio isn't bad.. I'd say it's average for 185. Thing is the guy explodes out of almost no where when he seems gassed.. powers the last thing to go it seems.

Funny you say that. It's easy and pretty safe to assume that someone with his build would have poor cardio. Solid statistic to refute that and pretty impressive on him.

I made a thread before about how his cardio isn't nearly as bad as people say on here. No one was really able to show why this is such a prevalent opinion on Sherdog.

He's no cardio machine, but he's certainly not going to gas in a round or two like some people seem to think.

Romero by TKO before the 4th. Luke's poor defense will again be his undoing. Yoel is not the guy you want to have poor defense against.

Yoel has been the underdog in every single one of his UFC fights, aside from Clifford Stark. He's a huge moneymaker for someone.

Not sure if Romero was pacing himself against Whitaker or if he just gassed by the end of the fight.

Either way, he won the opening rounds against a guy whose knee was gone and he blew it.

He just has exceptional timing and explosiveness, so even when he's gassed hes one of the scariest people on earth.
