2nd Trailer for ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY Released!

A new trailer for Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is now online. The film follows a small group of rebels as they attempt to steal the plans for the Death Star.

Despite all the talk of production problems on the film, you wouldn’t know it from this trailer. Rogue One looks like a bold, exciting step into the future of the Star Wars franchise. Visually, it looks completely different than anything we’ve seen before, and it looks like Edwards has succeeded in giving his picture a “war movie” aesthetic. Moreover, this trailer does a terrific job of focusing on the cast. This trailer is so good you don’t even need the little Darth Vader capper at the end, although it certainly doesn’t hurt.

Also starring Diego Luna, Mads Mikkelsen, Forest Whitaker, Jiang Wen, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, Ben Mendelsohn, Genevieve O’Reilly and the voice of James Earl Jones, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens December 16th.

God damn, that trailer was straight-up mech porn. Super high-resolution footage of the Death Star, Star Destroyers, TIE fighters, AT-ATs, and all the new vehicles they're introducing. My dick is diamonds.

That would be a great way for them to move Vader away from whiny Anakin back to the fearsome antagonist that stepped onto the Tantive IV and snapped a motherfucker's neck with one hand.

The new droid sounds very close to C-3PO too.

I don't like the main character. I just don't buy her as a strong presence. The special effects though, now that is the Star Wars I remember from the oridge tridge.

Jyn Erso is a fucking badass. Female or not I love me some badass heros/heroines..

Saw guerrera looks badass too. Forrest Whitaker brings so much gravitas to this movie.

Cannot wait for this movie. It looks beautifully shot and executed, the music is wonderful, menacing Darth Vader again.

Looks like Diego Lunas character falls in love with Erso. She looks wounded at the end when that interceptor ambushes her.

Also, mother fucking Donnie Yen. That is all.

Mads Mikkelsons character must be extremely important. No scenes with him in any trailers this far.

I'm with you 100% right now. Seeing Donnie Yen and fucking Forrest Whitaker is like the icing on the cake. I was excited for this before, but now it's officially "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY" levels.

And of course Lunas' character falls in love with Jones' character. Look at her.

Looks good but I am always wary of trailers. I think they have got trailer making down to such an art form these days that they can make any old rubbish look amazing. i.e. man of steel and Prometheus.

The first 5 seconds of the trailer is such an amazing visual.

They put that together nicely with combination of the classic music.

To be fair, it didn't look like the bazooka took down that AT-AT. Just did some damage to the side of the cockpit.

Unless you count the novel "Splinter of a Minds Eye" as the start of EU (I don't), the "Thrawn Trilogy" was what started the EU. He was introduced in "Heir to the Empire" a story that takes place 5 years after RotJ, which was released well before the Prequels. The novels kickstarted the SW EU craze with what happened after the movies. Some novels would fill the spaces in between the OT movies, there were a few short stories about Thrawn that took place during that time, and after the Prequels we got some backstory on Thrawn during that era.

When Disney invalidated the EU after the purchase, Thrawn ceased to ever exist....until now

Right, but, a dozen or so of those and that attack on Hoth looks like it would have gone quite a bit differently. Just keeping those forward guns off target would allow a speeder to tie up dem legs. Also ya gotta wonder how much better they would have done on Endor with a few of those blasting the AT ST's.

I love that they do the Star Wars theme slowly with a piano, I think it sounds great. Suits the tone of the movie.

I think Vader will have his "Winston Wolf" moment in this movie. The Imperials screw up to these ragtag team of Rebels so they send in Vader to clean up the problem

Second trailer looks very good. Actually really excited for this one. They can actually kill off many of the characters to give this story some juice on the sacrifice for the acquisition of the Death Star plans.

Hopefully Vader is doing the deed and tearing up some rebel scum.

goddamn this movie looks great. I love how they didn't show much of the actual movie and vader. It leaves a ton of room for the unknown, great job at making me want to see the movie even more without exposing to much of it.

Also i can't fucking wait to see prime Vader besmirch Rebels
