Ten-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion, Roger Gracie returns to MMA after one and a half year competing solely in grappling tournaments. As he posted on his Instagram, the Strikeforce and UFC veteran will once again compete at ONE FC, on May 6. Gracie (7-2) will meet the undefeated Michael Pasternak (11-0) in Singapore, in a middleweight bout.

Middleweight... that sucks unless it's pride weight classes.

ONE don't do weight cuts, so he is going to be walking near 185 which is crazy. Hell their Light Heavyweight division is the Middleweight he fought at in UFC, so I'm not sure what he is thinking here, he is basically going to a UFC Welterweight size now :/

Can't wait. I'm a big fan. Thanks for the info as usual MMALOPEZ.

If I'm not mistaken middleweight in ONE just combined MW and LHW, so he should be able to come in at 205 and look actually look healthy.

Eh it seems like he'd got a lot of potential at his size and BJJ training but he did pretty poorly in SF and UFC so not excited.

Middleweight in ONE =~ 205lbs

All the division weight limits have increased but no dehydration allowed to make weight.
I.e. Askren is the welterweight champion but now at 185 instead of 170.

Someone pls correct me if I'm wrong lol.

I'll be at this event, looking forward to watching the grappling GOAT (IMHO).
But his opponent is 10-0 so who knows what'll happen

Can't wait to see who he fights after this(in two years).

His opponent his primarily a grappler, so this probably won't end well for him.

Good, I think he could have stuck around the UFC for a bit had they not cut him after one fight/loss.

Definitly had a good strike force run pickin up Ws over jardine and prangly early on hope to see him do good

After one and a half year competing solely in grappling tournaments? Which tournaments? I only know of his superfight with Comprido

He doesn't utilize his height/reach, so I don't see why he bothers with the drastic weight cutting. The whole idea of fighting at a lighter weight is to impose your size and I think he's terrible at it. He fights way too relaxed and hangs in the pocket way too long, like he's competing in a grappling tournament.

It may sound crazy, but I wonder if he's just better off at heavy. Heavies are a larger/slower target, easier to initiate a clinch on.

Great news. Roger is a very talented fighter. Coker should sign him again.

Tough opponent, glad to see him back though.

He's getting knocked out you heard it here first.

I like him at HW the best, but 205lbs is okay as well. He drains himself too much at 185lbs and looks terrible.

I always thought the same but he impressed me against McSweeney, his striking looked improved
