Maybe nobody will care, but I got a kick out of this. Rocky Marciano showing up in a brochure for Buick in 1967:

On a side note I’ve just read Unbeaten, Mike Stanton’s recent biography of Marciano. Interesting book, especially his connections with mobsters (Stanton is a journalist who investigated a bunch of corruption cases).

Is that the one that had mugshots of rock.

Is that the one that had mugshots of rock.

It is. He was judged in a court martial back when he was in Wales en 1944. It prevented him from being part of the D Day and what happened afterwards. The case was about theft and violence over two British soldiers he was partying with along with a buddy. To defend himself Rocky pretended the guys were gay and tried to seduce them, which wasn't backed by any kind of evidence. As a result he had to remain in the army longer than expected to get an honorable discharge.

Maybe we'd have never heard about Marciano if it weren't for this misdemeanor.

I thought it was crazy how we never heard of it.

Too bad that if you wanted to buy the buick, you had to pay it in cash.

Should've done a plane commercial.

Too soon?

Sorry.
