Rocky Balboa's Record

Big Yank Ball was a legit tough guy:

A guy that used to serve as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army, Big Yank Ball turned into a pro boxer and makes an appearance in the news in Rocky III. He was from Bangor, Maine. Big Yank Ball was also one of Rocky's opponents in the intro to Rocky III. Yank Ball was the US Army Champion challenging for Rocky's World belt.

US Army Champion? How exactly is this fair to Rocky?

How the fuck did he get a Title Shot with all them Loses. Guess it was for the WBC belt.

ANd has a bunch a KO loses too. but Took Clubber and Ivan punches all day with no problem. Must have a develop he chin in the ring. There is still hope for Khan.

god damn it man :icon_lol:

He got stopped 4 times in the first round, interesting fact.

Because the US Army were a bunch of cans. Rocky took it easy on him as the shame of Vietnam was still a stain on the US military.

Lang deserved the rubber match.... he completely destroyed Rocky in their first fight and didn't train for the rematch because the first fight was so easy. All Rocky did was run around the whole fight until he gassed.

A third fight would have looked a lot more like the 1st fight.

yeah, and Clubber Lang had a $hit corner...he really needs to sign with Freddie Roach.

This is why I can't take Rocky Balboa's record seriously or consider him in ATG discussions.

He was a mafia enforcer. The mafia has their guys throw fights so that they can win money. Rocky threw fights. It's that simple to me, whether you nostalgic old timers want to believe it or not. To me his entire record is questionable.

They were probably Angulo-style standing TKOs, remember that Rocky wasn't a household name until his late Apollo Creed replacement so the ref probably saw Rocky taking blows and stopped the fight for his safety.

Rocky would often go from exhausted and wanting to quit, to full of energy and bouncing around the ring, I'm sure Mickey purchased Rockos water bottles from Panama Lewis.

Spider Rico should have won that fight :(

Reported for baseless steroid accusations. I'm tired of this fighter bashing bullshit.

But where was Marget Goodman when Mick was slicing Rock's open. Can't believe she would allow that.

And Rock should have had Stitch in his corner for that fight, then it would have never gotten that bad. Kelly Palvik had a better cuttman than Rock.

But it's not like life was hard on the guy after that.
guy landed himself a comfy job in Rocky's restaurant....

My namesake isn't looking so good there lol.

Full head of hair.... not too bad of shape given the age.... can pull off a dago-T the way it's supposed to be.
I think you're being too hard on the guy

He's rockin' a wifebeater in a Rocky movie, he's livin' the good life.

Apparently Rocky had a nice trilogy with Alfredo.

Alfredo Banks (Loss by Split Decision in 8 Rounds)
Alfredo Banks (Loss by Unanimous Decision in 8 Rounds)
Alfredo Banks (Winner by TKO in Round 9 of 10)
