I cant see this fight going much different then the first.. Rockholds standup is too good for Weidman and Weidmans wrestling isn't enough to make up the difference. Does anyone think Weidman will come back stronger the second time?

Weidman will fight more conservative, with a better game plan that doesn't include spinning kicks.

Fight will probably go to a decision this time, with rockhold getting the nod, winning 3-4 of the 5 rounds.

The Chris, by not having a broken foot.

its a joke weidman got a rematch, hes a sloppy slow fighter who just beat up old guys who weren't accustomed to the new testing. hes going to get starched, luke will probably end the fight by the second round with a nastier finish then the first fight I just really hope the referee is as lenient as the first ref so he can take alot of punishment to his brain.

It's dumb that it's an instant rematch, but I think on a good night Chris could beat him. Still shouldn't be happening though

i agree with your first remark. i doubt, though, it will go to a decision. two beasts going for broke, i think rocky bests him, yet again, may take a few rounds but certainly not 5

I got weidman winning and I'm okay with rematch but im a pretty big weidman fan so I might be little biased on his chances of winning.

Weidman will win and was winning before he threw that stupid spinning kick to show Rockhold that he can throw those too. Especially since Weidman had been doing so much training with Wonder boy, he couldn't help it. Be a close fight like last time but I got Chris.

This is the first I have thought about it since it was announced. So I don't think too much of it.

I think Weidman over-dieting in attempt to make his weight cut easier made him physically weaker than normal.

Being physically weak caused him to gas trying to compete with rockholds physical strength.

He will probably correct that fault along with not risk throwing low percentage wild kicks that got him put on his back and taking damage he normally wouldn't have.

With those two things corrected, I feel it will make this a closer fight, thus going to a decision.

Rockhold's striking hasn't been very impressive since the Bisping fight. I don't even give him a striking advantage over the Chris. Weidman KO'd Uriah Hall and Anderson Silva. Outstruck Machida over five rounds. Machida was outclassing Rockhold on the feet until he fell down.

Rockhold's striking is a level above Chris'. Weidman relies on his chin and the threat of takedowns for his striking to work. Rockhold isn't afraid of weidmans ground game. weidman can take him down and hold him there but that's it. Rock holds grappling is insane.
I just can't see how weidman wins this apart from a luck winging punch standing up. Chris' biggest strength is his toughness and chin.

Once Rockhold gets Weidman to the ground and on top its over.

Also I think Rockhold can last 5 rounds easier than Weidman so if it gets to championship rounds, Rockhold will dominate.

I got Rockhold by ground n pound or sub. sometime in the first 3 rounds.

1. It's kinda dumb how you mention how his striking hasn't been very good since the Bisping fight when he's only had two fights since then, one of which only being in the stand up for a few minutes.
2. KOing Uriah Hall is less impressive than almost TKOing Bisping then subbing him. Andy was chinny too, Bisping knocked him down. There is no doubt in my mind Rockhold would've KO'd Anderson too.
3. Sure Chris outstruck Machida, but Rockhold TKO'd him in 7 minutes.
4. They were only on the feet for a few minutes, kinda dumb to base his striking skill against one of the most confusing strikers, especially within a 3 minute sample size.

I think rockhold beats him worse than last time which is hard to do.

When Machida and Rockhold were standing, Rockhold looked slow and Machida was lighting him up. And I didn't even mention Vitor. I don't give Rockhold a striking advantage over Weidman.

That said though, Weidman seems really out of it in all the interviews. I don't know what to expect from him.
