News Roberto Soldic signs with ONE

I don't think Soldic would give him the type of fight Daley and Lima allowed him to have. Jackson is no just bleed warrior on his best day but he's the kind of guy who will strike with the wrestler and wrestle with the striker so when he fights the likes of Douglas Lima or Paul Daley yeah the fight is going to suck because he's just going to lay on them. I actually think Soldic is a nightmare matchup for him so I'd like to see the fight.

Why are Burns, Luque, Belal, Chimaev & Brady more interesting then Amasov, Storley, Koreshkov, Larkin & Jackson? I'm genuinely curious. I think all 10 hypothetical matchups are interesting. I didn't include Usman or Colby BTW because Usman will be gone and Colby would never fight Soldic.

Soldic vs Luque alone is better than any possible Bellator matchups. Burns, Shavkhat, and Khamzat would all be amazing fights too. Amasov is the only interesting one in Bellator, Larkin would be cool too but the UFC is the premier 170 division.

Storley would be a good win but don't care for it, MVP is overrated and gets thrashed, Koreshkov and Berkhamov would be decent. Bellator definitely has better matchups for Soldic than One, but like I said, Luque, Burns, Shavkhat, Khamzat, Colby, Usman all are way better fights. Plus the possibility of going to 185 thumps Bellator matchups even more. Pereira, Cannonier, Costa, Whittaker, Vettori would all be awesome.

For that reason I would actually be quite interested in seeing that fight but I can see why others would be lukewarm to the idea. It's all moot I guess now.

If I was Sage, I would say no and just give me Shinya. Get your face broken once by Cosmo resulting in you being out for three years now and then you get booked against Soldic after what he did to Mamed.

Which sidenote, Mamed must be happy that Soldic is gone

However, when it comes to the money Roberto can probably make more in ONE then UFC since the competition (yup, UFC has competition ) is way bigger in UFC. No way Roberto would surpass Robert Whittaker.

170 is one of Bellator's more interesting divisions, got no idea what crack that guy is smoking. Plenty of great fights there for Roberto - lol at thinking Amasov is the only guy worth anything in Bellator.

Usman isn't disappearing in a year and Colby not fighting him is just making shit up. You left Edwards out. Hell, a fight against Thompson would be a nice welcoming fight for him in the UFC. Rakhmonov is coming along nicely also. On top of it you can have ten times the amount of people watching you fight which opens up a lot of other doors. The UFC makes events feel special which in turn it gives the UFC fighters that aura of being the best in the world even if they may not be.

Difficult to say for sure. Current version I think would do fine, USADA version remains to be seen.

a sad day for Soldics MMA career and a sad day for all real MMA fans, because lets be real, at 27 it would be the perfect timing to switch to UFC and try to make history (for himself, Croatia and the region) but he decided to go for the safe option.

Im sure One, and also KSW, offered him more money than the UFC, as he said by himself, but the difference is that with both of them he most probably get only the money he negotiated now, with the UFC he would get more if he could catch the belt and defeat it a few times. Summarized he is not confident enough in his skills and therefore went with the safe option.
