Roberto Soldic Announcement

The KSW pay would probably be safer in the long term, since there's hardly any threats for him there so he could headline for some years before he's past his prime, like Khalidov did.

UFC is way tougher and he could realistically end up like a Marlon Moraes. On top of the world for a bit then in the matter of 2 years he'll be completely done.

Yeah, but you don't get in this sport to be cautious and avoid risks. He's making 200k a fight now and he's a double champion in KSW with good sponsors, he's accomplished all that he can in that promotion and he's only 27. What he gets signed to the UFC for probably about the same as he's making now? Probably with some kind of contingency of getting a title shot after 2 or 3 wins type deal.

He's 27 with hundreds of thousands of dollars in the bank and a stream of income off sponsors alone, hanging out with Cro Cop and shit, has 500k instagram followers, if he does well in the UFC he'd quickly break 1 million which is worth a lot in its own right. This is a risk he's supposed to take, one he can clearly afford to make at this point in his life too. You're 27, a double champ in KSW, completely financially secure, he's supposed to come to the UFC now.

He's not 34 year old Mousasi who doesn't get along with the UFC and failed at making it to a title shot despite being elite, that decided after trying he's worth more elsewhere, ya know? This kids 27, double champ, got tons if money and financial backing, on a 7-8 fight win streak, great record with some signature wins etc. The UFC makes sense....Even if on the backend it makes less sense, in life your aspirations matter a lot and sometimes you gotta bet on yourself.

I agree. He has money and he's young - when else should you take risks, when you have nothing?

It's a job so if he wants to stay in KSW then he can do his thing, but he doesn't have that much to lose by trying out a bigger league. UFC is perfectly fine for him, if he gets beat up he can just go back to KSW and be their guy still.

Soldic vs Reiner, I guess. Aaaand what else?
Nothing, but he is fighting worse fighters for more money. I don't think Reinier takes down Soldic and Soldic is way better then him on the feet

Shame on UFC. Shame on them.

This is a headscratcher for me. I dont see Soldic's value to ONE. Is not like Soldic is a big name on the Asian market, why spend so much money on someone without namevalue in Asia? It would have made sense for UFC or Bellator that are breaking into the European market.

Supposedly ONE told Soldic he could do kickboxing and muay thai bouts, but like I don't really give a fuck about watching that since Roman Kryklia and Regian Eersel would kick his shit in and Muay Thai above FW (aka 155) is absolute trash tier around the world

Reiner, Sage, and Akiyama I guess.

Wow Sage and Akiyama, so excited
I mean, from Soldic's perspective he will be fighting subpar competition and raking in a lot of cash. He is getting a Kayla Harrison kind of deal. Cant say I blame him.

Disappointing since I wiish to see him get paid but also fight top level opponents, but alas

I can't blame him for doing what's best for him financially it's just a shame he's a good fighter and hardly anyone is going to know it
