Confused why there are so many people saying Wanderlei would win? I love Wand as much as the next guy...
I mean... The sport evolved by leaps and bounds since Silva's prime. Whittaker is literally on a completely different level than Wanderlei was. He'd kick the shit out of his legs and keep him at distance and stop him in the 1st round. And if he wanted to take Wand down he could as well.

Because Prime Wand was a 205 pounder who was roided like a race horse and one of the most aggressive fighters of all time, completely different from animal from what we saw in the UFC. Not saying I think Wand definitely wins, it’s a coin toss for me because Whitaker is technically better, but it’d be hard fight for Whitaker because of how aggressive Wanderlei was.

I see people comparing him to Yoel but they are two different fighters with completely different styles. Also as far as stopping him in the first you have to remember prime Wand was hard to stop it wasn’t until he got a HW Cro Cop kick of death in their second fight followed by a KO by Hendo that his chin started to fail him.

His wins are over cans. He only beat Hendo once. His 2 Ramapage fights were good, but those are only 3 fights compared to the 20+ he had in which he lost to Cro Cop, Arona, and Hunt and got KTFO by Hendo in the rematch.

Except when Hendo beat him he sent his ass to the shadow realm. Mezger is a nobody and Saku is a can. Saku lost to every significant fighter he ever faced. Who gives a shit if he beat one dimensional Gracies? He drew with a green Cro Cop and proceeded to literally almost die in the rematch. He only beat Arona once, Arona has a win over him. Against any great fighter he can only ever win once which is telling.
