One sided fights that feature predominantly control and little damage are not exciting. I've been watching MMA for 20+ years. If having this opinion makes me a casual, so fucking be it
 
Imo it was a boring fight because DDP was clearly not at his level but had enough defensive ability, endurance, and toughness to able to stall out each round and Khamzat wasn't willing to take more risks and mostly threw pitter patter and focused heavily on maintaining control. It wasn't the worst fight ever and both fighters have every right to use the strategies they used. And I had a fun night watching the card especially those two monster elbow KOs and the tension every round of the main event wondering if Dricus could pull off a miracle. Unfortunately the main event just became 25 min of Khamzat dragging DDP down and holding him in the crucifix but hey thats ok thats how fights play out sometimes.


I don't agree with those types of standups. Felt like the ref was getting involved and wanted to give DDP another chance at a hail mary. Stalling and a lack of activity in MMA should be dealt with via warnings and penalties, not physically changing the position of the fighters. Some of the most boring fights of all time were all on the feet.
 
Stands ups were terrible and Goddard is dogshit, but the fight was dull

Dominant win, however it was just not a fun watch which is more on DDP for not being able to adjust to Khamzat's gameplan for five rounds

Can't really shit on Khamzat for doing what worked best for him
 
Appreciate Bobby putting things into perspective. And happy to hear someone like him putting Goddard on blast for his disgusting interference.

Fight would've looked different if DDP did more than stay in survival mode because he was afraid of getting caught in a choke. He stayed on the ground shelled up because he didn't want to risk it. Not even when it was clear he had to get a finish himself.
