Said this in that 40 minute interview with Tyron and that interviewer who clearly DKSAMMA.

Anyone remember McFedries? Guy was good for quick, violent, exciting fights, shit grappling but had murderous power, and KOs over Sakara, Radev and Eastman. He was also fucking up Kampmann badly before Martin pulled off one of the underrated alltime comebacks in MMA.

One of the hardest hitters in MW history.. Manhoef, Robbie and Hendo are the only ones id say off my head who had more power
Id put him a bit above the Vitor/Terry Martin/Scott Smith/Radach tier IMO

No surprise there. A lot of guys have said McFedries hits like a truck.

Didn't he say in an older interview that he started to rethink the whole sparring thing after McFedries hit him?

Lol I remember hearing about how no one wanted to spar with Mcfedries back in the day. Was apparently a dick who hit way too hard during sparring sessions.

Damn...Drew doesn't even look like the type to have that much power too.

I think so. Hobbie actually mentioned Drew last month too an interview that i missed

“Drew McFedries was the hardest hitter I’ve ever been around. A big, strong, athletic guy with power. He didn’t have to hit you with a hard shot or load ups€, even the little short shots could hurt you.”

McFedries was a beast. Hes still fighting in XFO I think

I always liked Drew. Too bad he didn't get amazing TDD or BJJ because he was really fun to watch.

He's grappling made him unwatchable because I'll get so mad that he's wasting his gift of punching power, the moment fight hits the ground it's over. It's as if it's like he spends zero time training his ground game.

I'd like some science on what makes someone punch harder than others, it seems to be very genetic.

I always looked forward to watching Drew. I just wanted to see him knock people out. Dude hits hard.

Drew was a beast. I really miss seeing him fight. I always try to give him props in any P4P hitters talk.

How kampmann survived against that monster is beyond me

He does to me...Looks stocky, His body type actually remind me of robbie lawlers, not shredded but very muscular underneath

His punches look loaded, his whole upper body looks like damn springboard that unloads on ur face.

Iirc he got the boot from MFS a while back.

Someone posted a really old story about a bar that used to have toughman fights. These two young kids would show up and beat the shit out of everyone for no pay and either the promoter or a coach went up to them and implored them to train for real. Those 2 kids were Robbie Lawler and Drew McFedries.

I miss McFedries. I always wanted to see him fight Anderson Silva, just because it was going to be exciting whichever way it went. It'd truly be a "don't blink" fight.

To this day I'm still astounded that McFedries hit Cote flush and Cote wasn't even remotely fazed, and in fact finished him in the next sequence, if I recall correctly. Cote's chin is or at least was one of the best of all time, even up there with or beyond Hendo's.
