For real -- he isn't the same guy that fought Sterling and Dillashaw. His ground game has always been solid, but he has put some serious work on the wrestling mat these past few years.

Yep he’s been actively drilling it for at least a couple fight camps now. He employed it against song as well to great success. He learned from his Yan and tj losses he can’t be a one dimensional striker

I mean, he got up from under Ricky simon multiple times, got up from garbrandt and Aldo, too. It isn't like people haven't tried to keep him down in the past.

I think sandhagen just developed very good wrestling, especially while studying the dagestani style in prep for Umar, where as font was probay focusing on striking in prep for Song, thus his "triggers" or reactions for wrestling might have been a bit off for him where as cory's felt on.

Regardless, font came to the right conclusion in saying, "I need to train more wrestling".

Well put and you definitely got a good point there. Either way Sandhagen laid out out a good blueprint, Font is going to need to put a lot of work in because people are going to push the wrestling.
