RIP James Caan

Loved him in The Godfather and Misery. RIP

Just to note not many guys left from The Godfather. I'm still amazed Duvall is still kicking.

Yeah one day there will sadly be none from that glorious cast. We still have Pacino. We still have Gianni Russo, out there telling silly tall tales about his younger days. Diane Keaton, Talia Shire and I think Simonetta Stefanelli. And Sofia Coppola appeared as a baby so the film represented the actual beginning of her life.

Some like John Cazale and Bruno Kirby (Godfather 2) and Joe Spinell died far, far, far too young.

De Niro auditioned for Sonny. Glad they went with Caan. We got De Niro as a young Vito.

Holy shit what a life:

“Caan was a practicing martial artist. He had trained with Takayuki Kubota for nearly 30 years, earning various ranks.[64] He was a Master (6 Dan) of Gosoku Ryu Karate and was granted the title of Soke Dai by the International Karate Association.[5] He also took part in steer roping at rodeos and referred to himself as the "only Jewish cowboy from New York on the professional rodeo cowboy circuit."[65]

I knew he practiced the martial arts. I didn't realise he'd trained with Tak Kubota.

Fun fact: The Killer Elite is the first Western film to feature ninjas;)

Is he in Hawaii 5-O?
yup

He's had a long career; he was in Enemy of the State back in '98, along with Gene Hackman, Jon Vought, Jack Black and Will Smith.

Yeah he's done a few legitimately good movies like Boiler Room and Varsity Blues.

Michael Douglas is probably the GOAT of actors' kids to make it. Kurt Russell, Melanie Griffith, Francesco Quinn, Sheen and Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Angelina Jolie, Geraldine Chaplin, Emma Roberts, Dakota Johnson, Laura Dern, Carrie Fisher etc. But Scott Caan is one that has shown himself worthy of the opportunities that being the child of an all time great creates.

Didn’t that director Scott suicide off the bridge ? Enemy of the state was so underrated

First movie I ever saw him in was The Program with Omar Epps and a young Halle Berry

The Way of the Gun is mad underrated and Caan gave a great performance

But he will always be hotheaded Sonny Corleone

Rest In Power legend
