RIP Bo Nickal hype train

I was saying before tonight that I don't even think Bo beats Marvin Vettori and now I'm very convinced of that.

Don't have any stake in this fight but getting smashed to the body makes him a quitter?

Sherdoggers are the worst

RDR is a giant at middleweight! His knees were nearly the size of Bo’s body. Also what a great call out of Strickland.

Bo does not enjoy getting hit.

This is a wrestler/BJJ weakspot.

The best boxers usually start training at the age of like 10.

A HUGE part of it, though, is getting acclimated to being punched in the face. Wrestlers/BJJ guys don't get enough of this experience, and they spend their MMA careers trying to avoid it as much as possible. When they do get hit, a look of shock ends up on their faces.

Being punched isn't nearly as painful as people think; especially if you have some adrenaline running. The WORST parts of being punched are the way the sound of rattles your brain and that moment of disorientation you feel. In the moment of being punched, the pain is actually the last thing you think of.

But you need to spend YEARS doing this in the gym before you can get comfortable enough to keep your head cool in a fight when it happens. There really is no shortcut.

I don't want to hear shit about RDRs 'massive' size advantage when Figueiredo is about to fight a guy who is 6 feet tall at 5'5. RDR is about 3 inches and 10-15lbs bigger. A size advantage for sure, but not what it's being made out to be.

Def looked like shit. shit striking, doesnt have that heart and dog in him to get into a war. He's not someone who is ever gonna be a top guy.

They shouldnt have made that fight, he really did need a few more before top 15 and if they wanted to rush him into it they shouldnt have given him RDR.

Back to unranked guys now but doesnt look like he's gonna go very far. He's not making big improvements in his game.
He's almost 30. He doesn't have a couple more years of fighting cans before stepping up to top 15.

Might not be the worst thing to get a loss out of the way. Seemed like he was trying too hard to avoid taking a loss, and now he got it out of the way and can just fight.

I'm convinced the UFC handed him a tough matchup after that garbage Paul Craig performance.

Welcome to the world of fighting without Dana White privilege. Womp womp big talker

Well they couldn’t keep feeding him cans forever. Eventually he would get tested.

The problem with Bo is lack of development. He came into the UFC pre-maturely after only 1 professional fight. He didn’t spend any time in the regional scene honing his skills and the inexperience caught up to him.

Also, he might have leaned too heavily on his amateur wrestling pedigree and neglected rounding out the other parts of his game.

Bo vs Joe Pyfer, loser goes back to the contender series. Winner can get Dolidze or Vettori on some apex main event

RDR tough with experience. Bo can still progress, but got a good lesson in mma. Knocked back a few spots down the ladder. Bo can blame himself for making a hard weight cut. Don’t pig out between fights. He has been making weight long enough to know better.

He's 29 and another year of fighting unranked guys, getting him in there 2-3 times instead of once a year or some shit would help develop him.

And even rushing him into top 15 that was the wrong fight to make. Even if he won it was stupid to knock one of them off in a div that needs fresh guys coming up with some buzz. Could have given Bo Curtis or something, one or two more then whoever number 15 is. This just wasnt the right fight to put him in.

Absolutely spot on.

I get the whole 'self belief' thing, but wrestling ain't fighting.

Wrestling might be the best base to have, but you GOTTA learn how to take a punch in this game. There's no way to do it but the hard way.

Getting hit to the body repeatedly because you’re mentally frozen and don’t know how to adjust and then just succumbing to your fate is the definition of quitting. He chose not to fight through mental adversity which made him an easy kill. In short, he quit on himself.

I knew De Ridder was a very risky fight for Bo
But i have to say i did not expect a knee to the body to be how that fight ended

Bo vs. Mike Perry... the winner gets Sage Northcutt!

Whoever prevails will get the HT Belt!

Make it happen Dana.
