What are the advantages or disadvantages in both case? Any benefits or non benefits.
Obviously it's a different rule set between them, for example with the ring, if you are hanging over or partially fall out, action is stopped and you're reset.
Which is better for mma?

IMO I prefer the ring.
I like that they have people to kinda stop u from grabbing the ropes, but also ropes don't really give much leverage. Tired of fighters grabbing the fence and stopping takedowns kmt.

Ring. Its 24' vs 30' (UFC). Easier to trap your opponent and looks aesthetically pleasing. More finishes.

Ring is more aesthetic, much better for live audiences.

Cage is technically better for MMA. There was a reason they chose that design for the first UFC.

Octagon benefit wrasslers more whereas the ring benefit strikers.

Why not both?

You need a pack of Asian men to keep the fighters in the ring for MMA.

see PRIDE

Octagon if you enjoy MMA. Ring if you enjoy multiple restarts.

So basically because of all the crazy shit that is going on during an mma match, all types of flying shit and takedown and this and that, octagon is best, as it keeps things always in play throughout with no stop of action, other than a tap or referee

Gotcha

MT, boxing, kickboxing = ring.
MMA = cage.

Make the cage smaller.

MMA is a grappling sport, so the cage benefits grapplers. Without the cage, Maia wouldn't have come close to a take-down versus Tyron Woodley.

its pure insanity that pride fans still think a ring is better after countless fighters getting tied up in the ropes and only pushed back in by a small army of japanese men

ring gives less chance of running therefore they engage more

imho it´s more exiting
