If you look at the current Sherdog rankings (which I tend to mostly agree with), only 7 Brazilian fighters are currently ranked in the top 5 in ANY division and only 7 other's are ranked in the top 10. And most of these guys are either on there way out because of age, or because they're declining. I listed them below. The only guys I see having a realistic title aspirations from this list are Jacare, Dos Anjos, and possibly Moraes.
What gives? There was a time when Brazilians held a stranglehold on MMA. Excluding the women, it seems like Brazilian MMA is at a low point. Theories?
