Ricky Hatton RIP

Back in my boxing watching days we'd all get together at my friend's house and watch. Big parties. I had just bought a big screen dlp tv and brought it over for his Mayweather flight. 15 people taking shit about him roughting up Mayweather and bringing the fight to him. Manny putting him down seemed gratuitous after that. Really sad to hear about his end

I suspect the strain and "supplements" related to his comeback might have something to do with this. He wasn't old
Could be or maybe he was coming back to try and pull himself out of a hole. We'll probably never know.

Incidentally, I was reading about some actor playing a boxer and losing 60 pounds said it caused him sleeping problems and made him paranoid. I could relate, I lost about 40 pounds last year and it screwed me up. As we get older nothing is the same.

Has passed away. Age 46.

Tough guy. Having logged my share years I definitely respect him. Life is one helluva opponent. Toll 10 for this man.

Just days before Ricky posted a heartfelt message out to a kid being bullied at school to stick at it. Top geezer.

Heartbreaking to see that knowing what state of mind he must have really been in.

Getting hit in the head frequently, can lead to mental health problems.

Good advise. It's usually more of a lack of confidence in body language and voice that attracts bullies.

However, in case push comes to shove I would still suggest to keep the chin down, not up lol

I am really fuckin bummed out about this, man.

It's been a really tough year. Several friends passed away, and this just sux. Huge Hatton fan.

Even though it ended in defeat, I was super entertained by his fight w Mayweather, and loved his rough housing tactics

Guy was an absolute gentlemen, a broken soul but always maintained his respect and humility with random people.
I often wonder what bothers some of these guys like Alexis or Arturo. A troubled guy like Tapia wore his heart on his sleeve so everyone knew he had problems. Alexis and Arturo still have people who just cannot believe that they'd kill themselves but looking at the histories, it sounds plausible.

chemicals in the human brain just affect certain people in certain ways

i dont want to sidetrack this, but it would be interesting to see the suicide rate from say 100 years ago to today, or in the past 20-30 years, so much more shit put into foods and additives and stuff which is doing who knows what to everyone, im guessing some people react differently to others, not just suicide but other things as well, autism and gender alignment as well...it just seems a lot more of these things happen now than has ever happened

Not sure, but I'd imagine the suicide rate is relatively the same. What we have today is more coverage of bad news, so it always seems like everything is getting worse. 100 years ago the food might've been less toxic, but everything else? Some shit they used to give out for headaches is probably classified as a Class A drug today.
