I read a quote by kron a few years back, and he said that his dad still makes him feel like a little girl when they roll. But that was when he was a brown.

Considering kron can hang with the best(marcelo, sergio, leites,)

That is pretty damn impressive if rickson can still tap him with ease.

Yeah, a good job organizing, his money into neat little piles.

He doesnt have anything to do with " keeping up the standards of the art". He MAKES UP standards, and demands everyone else to obide by them. "And if you dont like it, well F you, ill just take my ball home so you cant play!"

Its ridiculous. Only Black Belts that go by his guidelines can have the privilege to (pay) compete at Federation tournaments.

He has the Black Belts paying to fight, and he doesnt even give out prize money! The balls it takes to do that, im sorry...
I agree that black belts shouldn't be paying to compete but I do believe that some of the most prestigious competitions shouldn't be for prize money just like the olympics and the world cup. However there should be various competitions in place that offer prize money that make it lucrative for high end competitors in order for the sport to grow.

The Worlds should not have prize money.

While it's not often mentioned, there is prize money in the world cup:

* $8 million – To each team exiting after the group stage (16 teams)
* $9 million – To each team exiting after the round of 16 (8 teams)
* $14 million – To each team exiting after the quarter-finals (4 teams)
* $18 million – Fourth placed team
* $20 million – Third placed team
* $24 million – Runner up
* $30 million – Winner

Though, as I'm sure many people would argue, the prize money isn't the point/reason of wanting to win the world cup. But I'm sure it doesn't hurt.

what martial arts champions get paid? Not talking about prizefighting here ala muay thai/boxing/mma. Do kyokushin karate guys get paid?

Changing the topic here.

Does anyone have the exact Rickson quote where he stated that he could submit Fedor? After Fedor lost to Werdum by submission, it makes what Rickson say not seem so wacky.

Go to the other thread. The Gracie Pro/Am and lets discuss it there.

Did anyone catch Joe Rogan's comments that Rickson always gets high before rolling?

This has been covered:

Rickson has smoked marijuana and possibly still does.
