At the beginning of the 3rd episode when Velcoro's dreaming and his dad tells him he's running through a forest and hops out from a tree and gets shot to death..... Holy shit. Holy shit. Holying shit.

I'm pretty sure re-watching True Detective S2 is serious cry for help.

Caspere knew this.

Normally I try to finish a movie or season of a TV show to say I gave it a fair shot, but I quit halfway through season two of True Detective. And it's only a measly eight episodes.

It bored me to tears, and I have yet to hear someone tell me that I made a mistake. Other than @Peteyandjia, that is.

i actually enjoyed the second season

it wasnt near the masterpiece that season one was...but it wasnt terrible

vince beating the fuck out of samoa joe and taking his teeth was dope

The God Father 3 curse , where it follows a masterpiece ( In that case masterpieces ) is not really as bad as people remember but hate it because it doesn't live up to the standard of its predecessors

matt mac and woody set the bar ridiculously high...too high to overcome

I think the success of S1 demanded a S2 and they couldn't pull anything together in time.
Its was a really terrible season. If the seasons were reversed, S2 would never have happened. IMO.

You take away the True detective name and just make it a standalone season it comes off as an average drama that won't get a second season but due to the vibes from season 1 , s2 looks even worse

Agreed. Most shows will look inferior to TDS1.
But TDS2 would look inferior to most shows even if TDS1 never happened.

feel the same way. i enjoyed season 2, but season 1 was epic.

I just watched it recently and don't remember much of that season.

Lmfao I remember reading a bunch of frank quotes people made up. Sooo fuckin funny

Season 1 is overrated to. The dialogue between Mac and Woody are good, and the only reason why it keeps you watching is because the theme is child sexual predation.

The ending was horrible. It made the whole thing into a buddy/bro-mance movie. The conclusion was rushed. They should have gone after every politician in the State of the Louisiana.

as others have said, it was obviously not as good as season 1, but put me on the list of people who enjoyed season 2.
