I gave KenFlo that first round. But he tried to make it an ugly fight and it frustrated me how he was insistent on not using any boxing. Yeah, it's Aldo, but it was clear that constantly spamming takedown attempts and wall & stall just wasn't working for him.

he didn't have much choice, he got clowned when he tried to stand with aldo, and if he'd tried being agressive he'd have gotten fubar, instead he opted to fight trying not to lose instead of actually winning the fight.

guess he didn't wanna get highlight reeled.

Kenflo was too scared to try to strike Aldo (due to his WEC history. dont forget this was the beggining of UFC Aldo). Kenflo put up an ugly fight, forcing TDs that would not happen and avoiding combat. We could see Aldo frustration in his eyes, not being able to put his gameplan (basically, trying to murder his opponent, as he used to do in WEC). This probably affected Aldo's mind that day.

anyway, Aldo evolved, and by A LOT. Today's Aldo would beat that Kenflo without difficulties.

McGregor looks good: strong, big, fast. Its just that Aldo is on another level. Maybe McGregor gets there at some point, but not yet. He will take a very very very hard beating.

I think Edgar is the man to dethrone Aldo. He's been a great champion but this should be Edgar's time.

On the other hand, if Aldo can keep it against Edgar and Mendes in the rematches(which are coming) it would be epic.

Guys like Mendez and Edgar are monsters. Both these guys would have Conor on his back eating punches till he can barely breathe. Conor fans would be on suicide watch if Conor ends up fighting these two.

I'd favor both mendes and edgar over Connor but be careful with these kind of predictions. MMA is very unpredictable and while Connor hasn't really fought a lot of top guys to prove he's better he hasn't exactly proven that he's worse either. It's like Edgar says there is to many unknowns about him.

KenFlo was at the time a great fighter and a top contender and I hate mmath but Diego Nunes gave him all that he can handle and Siver pretty much ended up beating Diego quite clearly....
