I said some because I couldn’t watch the entirety of the last two seasons for obvious reasons.

I don’t know who irritated me the most on the rewatch:

Jon “I don’t want it” Snow who should have kept his mouth shut or taken the crown for himself

Cersei “Everyone is a whore except me” Lannister who could have escaped the minute she heard the Iron Fleet was destroyed by Drogon knowing full well the Red Keep was next. She thought she was Tywin Lannister but more like her dumb ass son Joffrey

Or

Sansa “I’m the smartest woman alive” Stark who screwed over her blood TWICE after treating him like trash his entire life. Doesn’t tell Jon about the Knights of the Vale after he repeatedly asked her to help him get more soldiers. She probably wanted him dead so she could rule the North

Then, she spills Jon’s secret after swearing not to which put Dany on high alert. Daenerys is the only reason her two faced arse was alive bringing her armies and dragons all the way to Winterfell. No way Arya or Jon should have ever spoken to her again after constantly betraying their family.

I feel if I ever did a rewatch, I’d stop after the season 6 finale. Season 6 still felt like it was pretty damn good overall and the final two episodes of it were very memorable.

That’s kind of what I did

I watched the Spoils of War and then The Long Night followed by The Bells just to see Cersei lose and cry. No way was I watching that finale again

It’s funny how Stranger Things last three episodes have been getting trashed online much like Game of Thrones did in their final season. You’d think people would learn by now

The Door and Battle of the Bastards are two of my favorite episodes.

I barely consider the last two seasons canon.

The only problem with season 6 is the complete lack of explanation for Jon's resurrection. We're just supposed to accept it.

Long Night was a disappointment to me because after all that build up, the battle against the Night King and his legions seemed like it wrapped up too quickly.

And the Stranger Things aspect throws me because I personally have found this season to be pretty good. I don’t really see why people are up in arms about it to the same extent as GOT. Someone on the forums said it well- Thrones had higher highs than ST but it also had lower lows.

I think this final season of ST has been fine. If they can manage a halfway decent final episode, I think they’ve delivered a satisfying concluding season.

The first four episodes were good but those last three were mediocre imo

If they finish strong then all we be forgotten but I have a feeling it’s not going to be great

We shall see tomorrow

I’ve tried to rewatch it a couple of times since it ended.

I didn’t make it very far either time because the first few seasons are so good that I actually get pissed off at how it ended.

It wasn’t just the last season. Dumb and Dumber (Benioff and Weiss) stopped giving a shit after the Red Wedding and just wanted to wrap up the show to do movies.

The Dorne storyline was a fucking atrocity and was a harbinger of how bad things were going to get.

I've tried to watch Game of Thrones, but I just can't get into it.

I think it has something to do with everyone just being a complete cold bastard to everyone else and it's hard to find somebody to really root for. So many American dramas want to make all the characters morally grey instead of just having good characters.

they should've kept all the bullshit that happens in the books and they should've ended it when the books ended and that's it. that way people would be unhappy, but because the story is left unfinished and all of the subplots are left open it at least gives people stuff to theorize on. i know book readers still do what i'm saying because the books are like that, but i don't get why they HAD to end it. the story in the books is much more convoluted but people who enjoy Game of Thrones LIKE THAT. leaving it like that also takes it out of their hands and puts the majority of blame on GRRM. "can't finish something that's not done folks, sorry yall!"

they should've kept Lady Stoneheart, Strong Belwas, and not completely destroy the Dorne plotline. then just end it on the pink letter and the Iron Bank. i don't get it, you can always come back to it later on when GRRM finally finishes the books. otherwise who gives a shit? it's not the end of the world, they've done stuff like that all the time, look at Rome, look at The Wheel Of Time, they left both those shows without an end. par for the course in today's TV show culture.

I still enjoyed the show, despite the drop off in the final two seasons.

All everyone does is whine now.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Started rewatching it and having a hell of a time, in anticipation of HotD season 3 and the dunk and egg show

I dont think the show NEEDED Strong Belwas, as cool as he was.

The Lady Stoneheart thing really seems to be a very important plotline they just erradicated.

Never cared much for alot of the Dorne stuff, until Doran finally mobilizes for war. They built Areo Hotah to be a GOAT but he was jobbed out on the show like a can, that sucks.

But it doesnt make me shit all over the show, it's still very entertaining to me overall.

the show ending was trash, but i don't really give a shit either. i guess because i'm so jaded from Hollywood fucking up endings in lots of things, it didn't bother me and i had already foreseen that GRRM wasn't going to finish the books so the show was most definitely going to switch gears because the story is too convoluted and not finished.

i wasn't that interested in Dorne until Doran started to show he wasn't just going to sit on his ass. that, and the subplot of Arianne/Darkstar. most characters i've seen read/watched many theories on over the years, but Darkstar i have no fucking idea why he did what he did and that is intriguing to me. his whole family is interesting to me.

i'll also say i really enjoyed the earlier seasons when they were basically copy/pasting the book. once they started removing stuff from the books i knew it was going to be fucked. the way the story is, minute details and seemingly unimportant things end up being keystones that connect the overarching plot. like Strong Belwas seems unimportant but, to me at least, the fact that he has a name and does stuff, it seems like he's going to be part of something important later on even if he himself isn't. kind of like how Quentyn was in the books. he himself was not important, but him getting melted and his dad being Doran affects the story going forward.

Yeah I hear ya. So many unfinished story arcs.

D and D did do alot of good, that goes past how masterful the book was.

The way it was adapted to the show, there was alot of brilliant things they did with the material.

Also the weight of seeing the characters age in real time, made the reunions we never got in the book, probably more impactful than the book would have made them. It really took Arya, Bran, Jon and Sansa 6-7 years to reunite, after being split up by war.

Even the little things like Bran seeing Jamie when he first arrives at Winterfell, or Littlefinger finally getting his comeuppance, the time passing on the show, added extra weight to it for me. Some things were done right at least.

Yeah, S6 was a good rebound after S5 dropped the ball pretty hard. Then it just went to shit. S7 is so completely worthless, and S8 was like watching a series wrap up on fast forward with the Benny Hill music playing. The ending itself was appropriate(well, the general idea anyways), but holy fuck did they rush to that finish line.

Agree on the first two points but I also think HotD is hot garbage.

It's also flawed AND very entertaining. But this next season needs to come out guns blazing after how slow the last one was.
