Sensational fight.

Hendricks won the first 2 rounds convincingly, showed great striking.

Lawler came back and rocked Mr 70% in the 3rd round and won the fourth round as well.

Hendricks came back and seemed to hurt Robbie in the 5th, might have been fatigure and got the takedown to secure the round and fight to become the WW champion of the world.

Both guys showed great chins and were two of the hardest hitters in the division.

Lol Robbie was laughing throughout the fight as well.

I think this is one of the most underrated fights in UFC history, both guys looked amazing and IMO I thought Hendricks beat him in the rematch.

I have no idea what happened to Johnny since then, lost the appetite and desire maybe.

Pre UFC champ Hendricks had so much talent that I really thought he was going to run the WW division for a bit. What happened to him. What a big fall from grace

Any Lawler fight is gonna be good.

This fight birthed last round Lawler, because every fight after this he made sure to always win the last round.

Juiced up Hendricks was a tough fight for anyone.

Post USADA Hendricks isn't even ufc caliber.

It was one of the best title fights. Johny looked so good in 1 and 2, and then, after it looked like he was letting the fight slip away, he came back and got a crucial takedown to win round 5, redeeming himself for letting the GSP fight slip away by coasting in Rd 5.

That was a true war. I gained a lot if respect for both fighters.

Ironically, Robbie then got his redemption for that loss by fighting like a monster in Rd 5 against Johny, Rory, and Condit, stealing 3 fights that he was losing.

It's a shame Hendricks only puts 70% effort into his weight cut, these days.

I see many completely lose motivation after losing the belt. They probably see the road fighters have to take today just to get their first shot let alone a rematch and figure at the age they are at is it worth putting in the work to get back there if its not gonna happen. If you were champ already and lost the rematch for it, the chance of a part 3 with that fighter isnt a sure thing at all, even very unlikely.

Many say fuck it.

the two robbie vs hendricks fights were fucking phenomenal. sherdog bitches moan about hendricks but he was a fucking god on his prime run. maybe he can't make weight now because his brain is fucking scrambled? will always respect the man

They also ignore Robby taking a break rounds 2,3 and 4 in the second fight then going berserk in the 5th and not blaming Hendricks for trying to burn clock. Robbie was going for the ko, I would try to stall too lol

both guys showed ridiculous chins in those fights. im sure theres a clip of johny hendricks getting kicked flush in the face and his expression doesnt even change as his head snaps back

I wouldn’t say that fight is underrated, maybe slightly forgotten. But the fight won most of the fight of the year awards for 2014.

I don’t think I’ve seen people ever say that fight wasn’t absolutely amazing, just sometimes people forget to name that fight. Possibly the best visual is the one from the dejected Robbie once he realizes he’s probably not going to be able to win the fight after he isn’t able to get right up from the takedown.

The Robbie that looked helpless for that moment is in stark contrast to the one who went absolutely berserk against Condit 20ish months later and left everything he had in the cage in the final five minutes.

The title was the worst thing that happened to Hendricks. His 5th round coasting in very close fights is some of the most head scratching shit I've seen in mma.
