Anyone out there who has this tape/DVD, and willing to post it's contents and a review (similar to the excellent review for 'The Pit Work-Out' posted a while back)? I'm considering purchasing this DVD, but like most consumers, want a pretty good view of what I'm buying..

Jay, before you purchase that, let me suggest Ross Enamait... do a search for his stuff here on the forums. I just bought Infinite Intensity and I'll tell you it's the best thing that I've ever read. Combine that with his other book, Never Gymless (both very reasonably priced), and you have a very high quality, cost effective home workout. If you do a search you'll find that there is not a single bad thing to be said about him or his program. If you have any questions, hit up his site and Ross will personally e-mail you back. Great guy, great products.

I'll be reviewing Infinite Intensity once I finish the first week of his 50 day sample program.

Frank Shamrock's home wrkut give you a variety of drils and exercises to do to help you get in shape. Nothing on the DVD is gut wrenching in terms of difficulty but there are lots f great exercsies that you can do in any order, also many f the exercises are sport specific so nt nly d yu get strnger but you improve your fighting skills as well.

Go with Ross' stuff. I think I've seen Frank's tape - plenty of basic bodyweight exercises, a bit of plyo, some crazy partner work like leapfrogging and the like. It's nothing revolutionary, unlike II and NG.

I JUST noticed your location, Revok. Nice.

There's nothing nice about sweating blood, pal.

You shoulda seen my gunz, though...

I have both.
All of Franks workouts/techniques and Ross' Infinite Intensity.

Ross >>>> Franks.
Actually,

Ross >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Franks.

Thanks for the responses, guys - I've a binder with printed articles on conditioning for combat sports, and about twelve or so of the articles are from Ross' website. MAD excellent stuff - II is on my 'to get' list (even though I'm a complete conditioning newb at age near-27).

Reason I asked about Shamrock's DVD is that I'm attempting to put more work into my MMA-prep by adding more sport-specific movements to my solo (morning) training (which is primarily conditioning, but I wanna add some skill/muscle memory stuff to it). I also saw a DVD somewhere on using a heavybag for floor drills.

Thanks again!

Don't get me wrong, I did find some useful stuff in Franks DVD's, (i got them recorded for me for cheap!), but it's pretty much standard stuff you do at any "cardio" class. Mountain climbers, leap frogs, etc.
Where as Ross gets into different periodization programs, and he actually makes them make sense. Plus the fact he's in it to make better athletes, rather than just make some cash. Though he deserves every penny he gets.

Personally, I think between Ross' stuff and Bas' Cd's I got all the extra conditionings tools I need.

Any movements or exercises in Frank's DVD ("sport specific") that specifically apply to grappling moves?

If you are learning technique, and rolling / sparring / training hard, and you do Ross's and Bas's stuff...

well, you'll probably die, but if you need more conditioning than that, then, well... you probably aren't human.

^^^
Its not like I'm doing Ross' 50 program, plus Bas' CD, plus Muay thai everyday.

I do Ross' workouts Tues/Wed and Saturdays in the am, because our class workouts aren't quite as intense as they are on Mondays/Fridays. An hour of cardio /circuit and an hour of sparring, or something similair. I do Bas' Thursday a.m., and then some weights in the evening (I work nights at a gym Thursday). Friday is Sprints and Pads/Bag rounds, so I take the morning off (maybe a jog) Saturday am: weights (at work)- night, 1.5 hours of sparring.

So basically its a light am/heavy pm workout, or vice versa. Unless I'm really feeling beat down, then Thursday is "active rest" day, but I usually feel guilty, so I end up lifting anyhow.

although I might classify that as a recipe for overtraining if you aren't careful, if that works for you, definitely do it. are you still noticing gains in strength, cardio (aerobic and anaerobic), and skill? I burned out after a while and, after looking at my logs and stuff, noticed I that although I was learning new things in class, I wasn't performing to potential because of overtraining.

but as for my last post, I was talking to the original poster. he was still asking about frank shamrock and I was saying that skill/sparring+bas/ross is ALL that you need.

ye buddy do ross' stuf n tame your training down-more quality less quantity
