Losing Brad Bird and having Conan as a writer for a few seasons helped.

Hiring Dana Gould didn't help... Al Jean coming back in poor form didn't help.


Years back on Myspace I had a post saying something like "Dana Gould ruined the Simpons"... and the guy commented on it. It was kind of cool. Still an unfunny guy for that type of show.

I liked the Simpsons in the 90s when I was younger.

But to me, the Simpsons is like Metallica. I really loved Metallica until I heard Slayer and Pantera. And that’s when I realized Metallica was just a stop I made to my ultimate destination.

Similarly, when Family Guy came out, I had a similar revelation. And then again when I saw Rick & Morty.

I was craving something. The Simpsons/Metallica satisfied that craving to some degree.

I am not a huge Megadeth fan. I like some of their songs. But Mustaine’s voice is so grating. And it’s just not the style I prefer. Slayer and Pantera are much more my speed.

I used to have a barber who was a huge Megadethh fan. She was a black chick. She was their biggest fan.
