Reminder: Conor Mcgregor has no ground game

Better then..
135: Cody's boxing, TJ's standup?
145: Max's boxing, Zabit's standup?
155: Duffy's boxing, Barboza's standup?
170: Thompson, Till or Millender?
185: Whittaker, Adesanya or Gastelum?
205: Gus, Smith or Reyes?
HW: DC, Stipe or Volkov?

Conor has decent standup, better then avg boxing, a unique skill set.. but he doesn't have the best standup in MMA history by far imo. His ground game is not that good, though he does have good scrambling ability and an ok takedown defense imo.
Well, this guy doesn't know a thing about boxing.
I'll let you guys get back to your McGregor obsession.

Country mile better than TJ, Whittaker, Wonderboy and Till?
Better striker in terms of what? In certain divisions some types of striking work better and in others they don't.You can't say TJ is better ,because he has the threat of takedowns that makes his striking effective.Conor is more similar to Wonderboy since they are both counter fighters but the way they counter is completely different. One could argue Rumble is the greatest striker in MMA history just because he has overwhelmed any fighter he has fought on the feet, even in his loses he got the better of his opponents on the feet and then got outgrappled.Just saying striking is not one thing. There are so many factors ,Whittaker is a great striker but because he bleaches he sometimes dives with his chin on to opponents. When he engages he is very hittable and we saw that in the Romero fight. In conclusion I would say for most of the guys you mentioned it is too early to say they are the best strikers just because they haven't faced a wide range of of striking styles and opponents yet.

If Conor had the cardio I believe he would have stopped Nate with strikes in at least one of their fights.

Most likely yes. Your body can only take so much punishment. Look at Eddie for example. He’s known to get hurt but always come back and he did do that against Conor a few times, but it all added up and his body could no longer take it. Their body types made a huge difference, too, but the point still stands.

This explains why Conor fearlessly defended his titles against top contenders like Ferg, Lee, and the current champ.

<CroCop1>

Back to reality
lol...
Your sarcasm didn't go unnoticed but

There actually are good reasons why he did not do this

I'm now impressed with all that video evidence..

I'm sure he's also improved it a lot

will it be good enough vs khabib though? hopefully we'll find out

Conor immediately swept Nate on the first takedown, and on the second it only occurred after 24:30 minutes of fighting and 6 failed attempts.

But hey, don't let context get in the way of your narrative.

The first one that wasn't a sweep, Nate was allowing the position to work his guard. Go look at Nate's record and understand his game is putting guys in a triangle. Regardless, Nate - the worst ranked lightweight wrestler in the history of the sport, literally - took Conor down apropos of nothing.

I can't stress how bad of a wrestler Nate is. Guida and Joe Daddy, both guys who moved down to featherweight, beat Nate by wrestling him despite being cartoonishly smaller. Of course elite fighters like RDA and Benson take Nate down at will. Nate _never_ gets take downs, unless he's fighting Conor.

In the Mendes fight, it appeared Conor's guard game was - I shit you not - asking the referee to let him back up. He was stuck there for minutes at a time and couldn't work a sweep or sub attempt to save his life. Of course in the first Nate fight, Conor's instincts when he was hurt were all wrong, giving up his back, mount and the choke in seconds.

So far as we've seen, Conor is one of the best MMA adapted strikers in the sport, arguably of all time, and an obviously subpar grappler, certainly compared to his peers. I have no idea what is wrong with saying this objectively.

All this pointless back and forth arguing...

I can't wait until October/November when we find out the truth!

Being I'm a Boxing Trainer at Title Boxing, cousin is Karim Mayfield, carry a 6-2 Am Boxing record, prior to me having a 2-2 Pro MMA record.. in which I turned Pro at 35 in 2013 just for a hobby as I got older, I must not know anything. Plus the fact that I think McGregor is a hype train and one dimensional for the most part, plus think he's bad for the sport. I will let you get back to your incorrect assumptions.. "proud casual".

Mj rocked him.. al hit him... i think if conor gets one of those oppertunities I think hell easily sleep him

MJ has some of the quickest hands in the business, and Al hits everybody he fights.

Khabib dominated both of them still...

You know you’re an awesome grappler when half your highlight reel is padded with footage of you stuffing Nate’s takedowns.

Tell dat to Josay.

Btw bruv, luv the name - just got some Super Lemon Kush and Chocolope tonite. Shit's bomb.
Conor is the best striker in MMA history by a country mile

And one of the most underrated grapplers, great video TS

Conor is going to punch Khabib's head all the way back to Dagestan.

Like Mike Perry says, I got a black belt with these hands!

McGregor will put on a striking masterpiece on Khabib no doubt.

I'm honestly convinced that when Conor comes back he will be in the discussion for the best grappler in MMA!

What about the look of Khabib when he never gets close to pushing Conor against the cage and is eating lefts for 5 minutes.

Aldo has his period and they had to bring in Medes.

haters say no ground game but conor swept gracie black belt legend nate diaz, who was also three times bigger than conor

and conor dominated max holloway on the ground, who outgrappled bjj world champion jose aldo

LOL

I can't tell if posts like this are just trolling or not @Gerald Ford

TJ who's been knocked out on the feet

Whittaker who's been knocked out on the feet

Wonderboy who's been dropped by way lesser strikers multiple times

Till who only has 1 top level win and even then it wasn't a domination

Conor has never been dropped in a fight. Has completely DISMANTLED some of the best strikers in MMA.

And even was successful against Floyd in a boxing match

Ask yourself if any of those fighters could have any success boxing vs Floyd (or Sergey for Whittaker)

Exactly

I get it if people don't like Conor, but why is it so hard to just be objective and give Conor his due

Whether you like Conor or not, there's no denying that's he's on another level in striking and that he has the best boxing MMA history has ever seen at a championship level

There's no denying Conor is far and away the best striker in MMA history

Who's had more success outstriking other legit strikers

Who else has never been dropped or KOd.

Who else has never even been out struck (Conor was beating the fuck out of Nate in the first fight until he gassed)

Any other fighter you want to name drop has been dropped and knocked out on the feet.

No one is doing the advanced things Conor is too. And I can break it down for you and show you
Thanks Khabib. 2018 you chased people like this away from the sport and collectively raised the MMA fanbase IQ by 20 points. Nearly all of the above banned for being consistently immature, disrespectful shithead posters.

Just a reminder for those of you frustrated by the bullshit rigged marketing of kickboxers like Gane, Alex, and Sean all getting pushed to title shots without ever facing a grappler professionally in their entire lifetime... there WAS a time when fan sentiment was more idiotic. Collective improvements ARE possible.

This is a pretty weird and unhinged necro. Imagine being butthurt about people's posts 4 years later.
