The fuckin' 80s, man. What a decade!

I just randomly ran across this video and thought it was pretty cool.

According to the description:

This is an open tournament for all martial arts styles to enter. modified Kickboxing rules, full contact to the body and semi to the head and legs, no elbows or knees, sweeps are allowed.

Just watching this, I'm not even sure where you could find something like this to compete in anymore, but I like it and it looks like fun.

I'm also loving the 80s aesthetic here!

i saw a video on youtube, cant find it,but it was full contact karate type thing, with flying headbutts and submissions, that was from the 70s-80s.

That would be interesting to see. I've caught a few vids here and there like that, often labeled as "real-life Kumite" or something to that effect.

In fact, here's one. Not seeing any subs but it looks like takedowns and GnP were allowed on some level.

That isn't it,they where all in the gi. Believe it or not,I saw that event when it was first broadcast.

John Kreese would be proud.
