Remember when Zombie strangled Doostin?

KZ getting the belt in what is likely his last opportunity would be awesome. He lost a couple years to the Korean military and has always competed with a risk-prone style, but there's aspects of his skills that are underappreciated, namely his grappling. Against Ige he showed new wrinkles with his wrestling that would have been a tremendous asset earlier in his career. At times he has suffered from being two singular in his approach i.e. hunting counters.
 
Cant see KZ pulling it off.

It would be Michael Bisping'esque
 
Kz's grappling is underrated. he's easily one of the best grapplers in his division, but we forget sometimes because he likes to strike so much. It was cool to see him use more grappling in his last fight.
 
That's one of my favorite fights of all time. Full display of MMA.

I used to do that all the time in wrestling. Everything Zombie did in that fight was perfect, I was certain he was going to beat Aldo but then it didn't happen lol.

Probably because he's very predictable and doesn't really stand out anywhere, while Volk has proven he can do it all at this point, and more convincingly against better fighters.

Always a chance Zombie lands that leap in 1-2 that he relies on though.

Zombie won his last fight by completely outwrestling Ige, who is an elite grappler.

He didn't wrestle with Ortega because Ortega could actually threaten him with a guillotine or his guard. Volk won't have that threat. KZ can beat Volk on the feet or on the ground.

Then again maybe I'm a KZ fanboy because KZ won me good money against Garcia/Hominick/Poirier.

That was a hell of a fight.
KZ has the ability to pull it off, we'll see if it's his night.
