Remember when McGregor pulled out of UFC 200?

Do you remember when McGregor pulled out of UFC 200 just because he couldn't afford to take a day out of his 3-month training camp to go to the press conference? Isn't it the lamest excuse ever? I can understand pulling out of a fight because of a broken rib or because you can't miss 2 months of training but pulling out because you can't miss 1 freaking day of training? That's some Ronda-level mental weakness.

What if he arrived late at the gym because of a flat tire and miss half a day of training? What if he caught a flu and missed a whole day of training? What if he had an overdose of cocaine and missed 2 days of training? And let's not even talk about bruises and other minor injuries that can take a week to heal. There are just so many things can can lead to him pulling out again.

I think the UFC should schedule a replacement for McGregor whoever he's fighting next because you can't realistically expect such an insecure person to show up for a fight.

Hahaha ok I will agree with you. But this still happened last week. Dont be mad.

Not a Conor d-rider here, but I feel this need to ... correct misconceptions about the guy nonetheless.

Conor later said that the whole thing was a result of the aftermath of that fighter who died in the cage in the spring. Members of Conor's camp were involved, and even cage side, for that fight. He said they were all affected, and so he took them all off to Iceland to sort of "get away" from it all. He says he could have communicated that better with the UFC, in hindsight, and that likely would have resulted in him staying on the card.

Say what you will about Conor, but I can buy that reasoning.

this is what happens when all you do is talk shit on how your favorite fighter is gonna murder his opponent. you create 20 posts about the same shit and when he loses you feel the need to undo or "save face". I thought Nate would win but then again i never counted Conor out. it's a fight, it happened twice with two different outcomes. but it's done it's over with who cares. does Conor find a way to stack the game in his favor? yeah so does every other fighter out there. just let it go.

He was going to miss one day of training to fly to the other side of the world and back again? That ultrasonic rocket ship of his sounds like a great investment.

I click on threads from the front page that sound interesting. I've gotten used to having to check to see if it has already been Wastelanded before I even start scrolling. I forgot to do that this time, and I'm absolutely infuckingcredulous (Cormier) that this aborted fetus of a thread is still on the main UFC page.

WTF?

shhhhheeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttttttttttttttt

Trust me, I'm gloating like a mother '''''''. Everyone was saying how nate was going to win. Welll.... Now all the diaz fans are so salty. Very very funny.....

Even as a non Conor fan I'm a stay away from this one...

He didn't pull, shertard, he got pulled. When Jones got pulled, Conor said that he'd be willing to headline again. Diaz was asked also and said no.

Dumb Thread, Why are we living in the past? lol

that´s called ducking

Ducking means someone wants nothing to do with someone. If anything, at all, - Theoretically, what's the point taking a fight that you know surely you can't win? Only reason fighters fight is to win. If Conor thought his conditioning wasn't there for the UFC200, and was smart and came up with a strategy to postpone the fight. Now thinking what was happening after round 2 in the rematch, and what could have happened if his conditioning wasn't there. Even if that's the case then it was not a duck but rather great strategy that he utilized to get the win. After all, he is a machiavellian.

Conor did not duck Nate. He would've never been after the rematch if he tried to duck him. Now that also means he's very confident in his ability and skill in terms of matching up with Nate.

The other side of the world? Was he training in China?

And when you know you have media obligations, why on earth would you go so far away?

Horrible thread, but it does make me wonder...

what if Conor fought Nate at UFC 200?

Yeah, sure. He refused to go to the press conference without knowing what would happen. It's not like Nick Diaz lost his fight against GSP by doing the exact same thing. Oh wait...

I'm going to call my boss and tell him I'm not showing up for work because I don't want to. But hey, it doesn't mean I quit, right?
