Props to Ariel for posting this on The MMA Hour today as the "Ya'll must've forgot" segment.

Remember when this shit was common practice in the UFC? Dana was just doing whatever the fuck he wanted at that point. So glad things have toned down a bit.

Yep I was just watching it
I missed the rebel Helwani

Yeah, instead of firing fighters for not signing their likeness away for nil, they're now forcing fighters to wear UFC's official gear and pay them whatever they choose for their services while restricting fighters from wearing clothing of their own choice.

Not much has changed, they're just using different tactics to ensure similar results.

Nobody cares. The bodies are interchangeable like Conor said.

No one wants to play with
Fitch or Koscheck anyways.
Unless you're Fitch & koscheck.

I had a friend who chose Fitch
all the time & I'd beat his ass
with Matt serra just to piss him
off. I don't even like Matt serra.

Someone post a pic of Mitrione barefoot doing interviews. LOL!

This is what the UFC does to Fighters.

Haha. Those guys signed away video likeness rights in perpetuity for nothing

And sherdog was on the side of the UFC when this happened

Sad to see

Hmmm, he only showed that video not so long ago when Fitch was on the show.

The funniest thing regarding the whole thing was when whoever was making the game at the time asked Guida to cut his hair as it was hard to blend it in to the game and offered him money to cut it.

If Guida ever goes full Uriah
& cuts off his mane... I'm writing
a letter of complaint.

Yeah the reebok deal is beyond lame. Not only is the pay crap but the gear is ugly as a dawg Dick.

You're right.

Wasn't there something with the action figures as well?

UFC has a long history of doing stuff like that, all the way back to the IFL and Dana's threats. Actually, all the way back to Lorenzo denying the UFC sanctioning then buying them and getting them sanctioning.

haha wtf?! when was this?

Think it was before his Travis Browne fight. He was wearing Jordans and had to change. However, they didn't have any Reeboks that fit him so he had to go barefoot.

Don't remember any of this, but why did they steal Mitrione's shoes and socks?

I don't understand how that all worked out. Does he still own their likeness? Didn't he force them to sign it over for life? But then you have guys like brock lesnar who were in the later games. There's no way someone as famous as brock would sign over his likeness rights for life. So any updates on how that works now?
