Yup, all of Holly's fights aside from Ronda she has fought the same way. Tonight she fought an experienced striker and her game proved to be seriously lacking. Whole 3-4 strike combos hitting nothing but air.

the explanation I heard was that she intentionally underperformed so the UFC would give her a titleshot (implication being that Ronda was protected).

Lmao at the Holm/Silva comparison. It's a well known fact whoever the counter fighter is, if you don't lead them and let them lead you, the counter striker most likely loses.

I actually think Holly does her best work when she is first, and throwing her combinations, but she did very well countering Rousey when she was moving forward. The problem tonight was that, early on, whenever she threw more than 1 punch at a time, Schevenko countered it, spinning back-hands, low kicks, check right hooks, etc. In the later stages of the fight, Holm wasn't busy enough because she seemed worried about the counter. At least that's how I felt.
