Remember When Bisping Rocked Anderson Silva?

and i've been saying it for years

i knew it to be true when he went to a split decision with Chael in 2012.
I said to myself, this guy can compete with and beat the very best in the world at 185 pounds.

Yeah but to say he's 'nowhere near' the best fighter is kind of disrespectful and holding your subjective opinion of his skills over the results. If somebody wins the belt they should at least be given the benefit of the doubt as 'one of' the best fighters at that time.

I am looking at the results, all of them. Bisping barely beating Dolloway, barely beating Leites, etc. He's never knocked anyone out in the UFC, this is the outlier. Rockhold was too wrapped up in making quick work of Bisping and didn't approach him as a fighter that could beat him and he paid for it, but he was an 11:1 favorite at one point for a reason. Bisping is top 10 obviously, but he is clearly not the best guy in the division.

Well placed punch doesnt need a lot of power, he always had good boxing, and probably just got a little better recently, great fight by Bisping.

Also he has TKO wins via strikes, just not straight up KOs.

Bisping seems to be throwing with greater force now though, wider arc on the hooks and over hands.

That's the thing though, he typically loses big fights. This was his first win in a big fight, Anderson hasn't won a fight in years and where he's at right now is still unknown. He was only a slight favorite to beat Uriah Hall. And it's one thing not to blow through lower competition, but Bisping gets dropped/hurt by them and is in nearly even fights with them. If Bisping defends his title I'll eat my words, but if we do what you suggest and truly look at the results, they show that this fight was an outlier.

He lost decisively to Tim Kennedy. He also lost decisively to Luke Rockhold. You clearly want to give Bisping respect and that's fine, but as I said, everything I've seen tells me this fight was an outlier. If you disagree that's OK, but that's my honest opinion. Just out of curiosity, how many guys in the division do you favor to beat him?

I would only clearly favor Weidman and Jacare at this point to beat him, maybe Kennedy again but it's been a long long time since Kennedy fought.

He's 1-1 with Rockhold now, I can see him outworking Romero, and Vitor and Machida seem diminished.
