Remember this brain scrambler? Melvin vs Rick Davis

The few times he fought with discipline, he was a legit LW.

The few times.....

Yeah, he is like so many other guys who wasn't disciplined with his diet, with his training and stopped developing his game at a super young age because he was so talented he didn't really need to...until he really needed to. Kelvin Gastelum was similar, Pettis, Lombard and others. I'd wager in some ways Chandler was similar, he was so talented he didn't really develop his game since about 25-26, relied on his athleticism and never even improved his gas tank.

Sucks, but its how it goes. Guillard just didn't have the mind to actualize his potential.

Brutal wasn't it, I had that DVD. I remember thinking at the time that 'who the fuck is this guy' was probably not gonna last long at all with Guillard.

That's a career ender right there. Wasn't this only ricks like 4th or 5th fight? Pretty sure he legit retired after it.

He’s another Charles Bennet if you think about it.

He was like Rousimar Palhares, they'd get one or two dominant wins and Sherdog would blow up with next champ threads everywhere, like Rousimar would sub Anderson Silva easy threads were a constant following any win. Meanwhile, they were both extremely one dimensional and Guillard would tap out putting on a turtleneck.

As far as sheer all-out haymakers go, I prefer this one where he's on the receiving end. Cerrone stuns him, then gets a full windup with a running start on an opponent who might as well be a heavy bag at that point:

And for that "looks like he was just shot with a gun" effect, here's my go-to:
