It was silly

When it went to the judges - even Randy upon hearing the announcement was visibly aware he shouldn't have won that decision

And became the oldest UFC fighter to win a fight at FORTY SIX

People still defended Randy after that; I could never understand the appeal honestly. The guy was perpetually boring in victory - his big comeback against Syliva, aside from the first punch that dropped Tim, was so dull. The Gonzaga fight is the only one that really pops out as exciting during his resurgence. The Nog fight was great, but that was more because of Nog than anything else.

Vera practically had the cage imprinted on his back after that fight, but that was all. No punches from Randy, just 'pressure and control ' I guess - Vera at least hurt Randy a handful of times with body kicks.

I was there live, it was probably the only boring fight on the card.

I remember when Vera talked about being a 2 division champion and it wasn't that far fetched.

I also remember Vera destroying Mir and thinking Mir's career was over. If you'd told me Mir would go on to win the title again and beat Nog 2x and Brock I'd have laughed.

From what I remember it was close but Randy controlled him. Vera didn't seem to have a problem with it, he said Randy was "Strooong".

I remember the outrage was overshadowed by the outrage over previous event's result i.e. Shogun-Machida fight.

Broken femur bro. Just look into it.

Like Alvarez vs Pettis

Yeah it was in my hometown

Shocking robbery and no one cared because ..Randy

Like Alvarez vs Pettis

I had Pettis in that fight honestly. I never bother arguing about that decision though because it's boring af and I'm not going back to watch it.

uhhhhhh... so much more though. Dude was evidently pretty hooked on pills after the crash and had very little inclination to actually train.

I'd wager the psychological trauma of the incident carried on much longer than the actual injury.

Usually does.

If Pettis vs Alvarez happened in Pride Alvarez would have gotten an eventual red card and the ref would have set him up to get his head kicked off his shoulders.

Randy made Fitch look exciting. When I think of him, I don't even think takedowns or ground and pound, I just think pushing a dood up against a cage and staying there for 25 minutes, aka Wall 'N' Stall.

Remember that time machida went karate kid on Randy and his body almost took flight like in the movies? Cause I do. Good ones Randy
