Remember me....Matt Lindland

you really think hendo could beat pride fedor? I have no response, other than your f'king crazy...You think hendo could have whooped big nog...beaten crop cop? if the answer is no...then how on earth could he have beaten fedor?

Well hendo already beat big nog once, so what’s your point?

Anything can happen In a fight

I know a lot of ppl think “prime” fedor was unbeatable, but who did he really beat?

Overrated crocop who got demoslished by any descent ufc hw

Human punching bag Nogueira who also had a so so run in ufc

Outside those two who else?

Heath herring? Mark Coleman? Kevin randleman?

Decent fighters, but far more elite

Than ufc rejects Sylvia n arlovski?

Don’t get me wrong

Fedor was a great fighter, but his accomplishments have alot to do with favourable circumstances

Once he stated facing better competition in USA, he stated losing

As simple as that

Did the Brazilian tap better than Brazilians....

Kidding. Mostly.
Lol that's the team quest signature move when fighting brazilians

Seriously

How can you make excuses after getting flatten by 40 year old mw?!?

Also Bigfoot got destroyed in 1st round in his next 2fights by small hw like fedor

The reality is fedor just started facing tougher competition n got exposed

Bigfoot/Hendo is tougher comp than prime Nog, Mirko or AA?

I think you're just attempting to perpetuate the Fedor was always overated/fought cans narrative. The truth is in between, but anyone that has more than only one eye can see Fedor was a wrecking ball in the early mid 2000's in the ring, and was certainly a step or two down when fighting in a cage late 2000's early 2010's.

The reasons you can speculate all you want, yes maybe the 3 in a row he lost were tougher than average competition and he was bound to lose if what was fed to him in Pride/etc. were all of the Werdum/Hendo calibre (but nobody during that era got that either) but also perhaps his motivation/age/mileage etc. caught up as well as different rules etc.

Nothing takes away from that he lost fair and square but be sensible. "Exposed" is complete bullshit fabricated by haters or the ignorant. Pick which one you are

You guys do realize that Minotauro, Crocop, Fedor, Barnett, Couture were the best of that era, so exposed how? Heavyweights got bigger and more athletic (Lesnar,Cain,Cigano,Overeem...), but Fedor was indeed best of his day. The sport evolved and Fedor regressed to a punch obsessed fighter... Not a good combination, he would do better with more professional trainnning and tatics.

Hendo, from what I remember, barely beat big nog..and also lost to him...while fedor beat the ever living shit out of big nog..rag dolled him like he was a child...and you can't possibly compare the cro cop in the ufc to his pride days...how many knee surgeries did cro cop have before entering the ufc...in pride, he was a wrecking machine...in the ufc, he was a hesitant fighter...and hardly ever let his strikes go...

And even big nog, wasn't nearly the same as he was in pride, still came over to the ufc...and won the ufc title...demolished couture...so even a hobbled and way past his prime big nog, beat many of the top ufc fighters...yet fedor destroyed him, in his absolute prime...

And arvloski at the time, was ranked very very high in the world. he had won many fights in a row...

Born in Oregon City, Oregon Matt (The Law) Lindland would be one pf many wrestlers that would find very early success right away in the raw landscape of MMA. A successful High School wrestler that carried on to college, he even competed at the 2000 Summer Olympic Games (Freestyle Wrestling) winning Silver, while also competing and winning Silver at the 2001 World Champions at Patras, Greece. It was in 2000 where he would enter the UFC however, facing off Yoki Anjo at UFC 29, winning by TKO. It wasnt his first time fighting in MMA, that came in 1997 where he would compete in World Fighting Federation and IFC compiling a 3-0 record. After his win over Anjo, Lindland would face Gracie protege Ricardo Almedia winning by DQ after repeated fouls at UFC 29. The Law was making himself known in the UC after wins over Pat Militech and Phil Baroni, he would face off with UFC Middleweight Champion Murilo Bustamante, he would suffer his first loss by Submission choke at UFC 39.

Matt would go on to face many tough opponents thruought his career even fighting at Heavyweight and facing Fedor Emilanenko in 2007 where he would lose by armbar. He would finish his career at 22-9, and was consistently ranked in the top 10 at middleweight-Light Heavyweight for ten years with notable wins over Phil Baroni 2X, Mike Van Arsdale, Fabio Leopold, Travis Lutter, Jeremy Horn, Carlos Newton. He would retire from MMA in 2011 and is seen sometime coaching at Team Quest in Oregon.

Isn't Matt currently the head coach of the US national Greco team?

Great fighter. Heard he smelt something awful. Some guys poke eyes. Some use Dragon Breath.

I have see Lindland fight live, both times I saw him he got beat lol. I must be bad luck for him. those are my tickets from those events. I didn't care for him much at the time, but he is a pioneer and legend for sure.

Just on a side note.. look how much the tickets used to cost back then when guys like Lindland were fighting, compared to the disgusting and outrageous prices of UFC events these days

Hendo is a guy that could never win a ufc title...cause while he was great in a small pond..the moment he came to the ocean...he drowned..he had 2 chances at world titles and lost both times.

That would be like calling conor a legend, if he didn't win any world titles in the ufc...and simply using his cage warrior titles as evidence...that wouldn't cut it...and neither did his pride belts..
He had 3 title attempts in the UFC.

beating a way out his prime fedor, isn't much of revenge...lets see how good hendo would have done against pride fedor...not very well.
Fedor was 3x Hendo size and he still won. How bout dat

The title makes it seem like your Matt's old gf or something

His speed drastically disappeared against 40-year old Hendo and Bigfoot? Cry me a river.

I've never said fedor was unbeatable. Yeah, he went limp for about half a second against Hendo.

I'm just saying he is a bit undersized and flabby, and when age took away his speed, he became mortal. You're aware the Hendo fight was more than 6 years ago, right? The bigfoot fight was almost 7 years ago.

His chin got old too!

Eh, he was solid but obviously not championship material. Very good wrestler who is probably more known for his vicious KO losses to Lawler and Belfort.

He had great Greco-Roman wrestling, but his striking was less than stellar, and he didn't have the best of chins. Check out his fight with robbie Lawler. I thought robbie literally killed him. However, he did have some success in the Fedor fight, until Fedor grabbed the rope. He also fought rampage.

He was known for not showering for weeks before a match. He felt his foul odor gave him an edge in competition.

He was considered one of the best middleweights for quite a few years. He wrestling and body odor was straight up nasty.

He was a good fighter.

I remember him saying in interviews he wouldn't shower a week or so before the fight to put his opponent off with his B O. That's disgusting. Other than that, he was a good fighter.
