Remember George Sotiropoulos?

I remember he got really good for a really short period of time. Then fell off hard

The guy tapped Joe Lauzon in Lauzon's prime.

That's not bad.

Had a good run at LW too.

Good fighter and a fringe top 10 lw for a time and all that with a physique that looks like your local gym experiment gone wrong

he got cheated out of the TUF finale by tommy speers continuously poking him in the eye under matt hughes coaching.

I think he was the first guy to win 6 straight fights in the UFC and not get a title shot

He was fun to watch, damn good grappler and decent boxing

He had a good run, but I never understood why some people thought he would be a champion. His striking and overall coordination was always lacking a bit.

Plus, he was a dick on TUF when he was a coach.

Yeah, but if he won that, hed would have faced Rumble in his debut. Thus, getting KTFO. If I were him, Id count my blessings. After that knockout, Tommy said. "no thanks...Im good. Ill stick to bailing hay"

I believe his record of 7 straight victories to start his UFC career followed by 4 straight losses may never be matched.

I think he even won a 7th before he lost.

Was one of my favorite fighters to watch when I just started watching MMA around 2008.

I still remember when he submitted George Roop.

Hes muscular as hell with a body oddly resembling Dan Kelley. Does look strange.

7 straight wins, mostly by sub and then they gave him strikers and he lost 5 straight and retired.

I was one that thought he was headed for greatness...his striking was getting "better".

But Speers fought like 14 more times after losing to Rumble..... Lol

I remember him giving that spoiled brat on TUF a dose of reality about waking up on time, that was funny, always liked him after that.
