Rematches we wanted to see. Which ones would´ve had a different result at the time?

Thoughts?

None of them.

Conor pieces up Aldo like Holloway did.

All those fights would end up the same

Aldo has better TD offense than Mendes - who even with fuck all prep put Conor on his back multiple times - and a better top game to boot.

Offensive TD%:
74% GSP
72% JOSE ALDO
59% Chael
56% DJ
55% Chad Mendes
54% Brock Lesnar
51% Chris Weidman's Father's Boy
50% Jon "Bones" Jones
50% Dominator Cruz
47% Hendricks
43% Cain
39% DC
35% Frankie Edgar

Didn't seem like he was too interested in playing that game with Conor though. The way he threw technique out the window and flung himself face first at Conor it was obvious he didn't respect the challenger's power at all.

Of course you'd expect he'd take a different approach in a rematch, but who knows ... maybe because of his pride he'd be even more hellbent on being the converted BJJ guy who out-struck the born striker.

It's crazy to think that, even though all of these guys are still in the UFC, only one of these rematches still has a realistic chance of happening.

To answer your question (and setting suspensions aside), I'd say it's a toss-up between Jones/Gus and Cain/Werdum. Not that they would definitely go the other way in a rematch, but I feel they have the best chance of it.

I'd say the Jones fight could have a different outcome with different judges.
Ditto for the Velasquez fight in a different venue.

Cain would beat Werdum

Fill me in. Jones is still in the UFC? Is he likely to remain?

The ones most important to me, actually happened. No speculation required. I know that sucks for most of you. Because, speculation based on fantasy, is what Shertards live for.

GSP whooped Hughes in the re-match and, trilogy.

GSP crushed Serra.

GSP embarrassed BJ.

Those 4 fights went down pretty much as I expected they would. Life is good.

None of them.

Jones vs Gus and GSP vs Hendricks was competitive, but GSP and Jones just have stronger minds, so i think they win every time.

The other fights were not even very competitive, so I don't see why they would end any different.

If we didn´t have a rematch between JDS and Cain because the 1st fight wasn´t competitive, we would've never known who the better fighter was.

Not sure if it would go differently, but I'd love to see a rematch between Cowboy and Barboza that lasts longer than the first fight did.

I think a lot of guys favoured Cain in the rematch. Of course, I somewhat can agree with that, since you can say that about every fight, and Bisping is probably the best example, but even Bisping/Luke 1 was pretty competitive until the kick.

I think it is pretty safe to say these fights will look about the same if it was a rematch.

- Aldo is great, but struggle with southpaws, and looked quite small vs Conor. I would give Eddie a better chance.

- Belfort never really came close to Anderson. I don't see why that would be any different. Not even now, when old, slow Anderson is competitive with Brunson, while Vitor struggle with everyone and looks terrible.

- Werdum and Cain was not competitive. Werdum was better all over, so that is a safe bet. Even with all of Cains excuses, it will not change anything, and nobody believes it.

Gus would beat Jones again. I think he would make it more convincing the 2nd time around though.

Rematches have given us some great fights but some are better left at one go round.

I really don't know, I haven't been following his case aside from checking the Sherdog threads about it. But I feel fairly certain (based on nothing in particular, mind you) that he'll be back. However, there's no telling how long he'll be suspended for. I can't imagine that he'll get off this time, but I suppose we'll see.

Depends on how many metres above sea level this Cain werdum rematch is

Cro Cop vs Fedor 2

Which now is entirely possible with bellator
