Red Hot Chili Peppers

I'm fond!

I also don't really understand the hate that "One Hot Minute" gets. It was a step away from their norm with Dave Novarro in Frusciante's stead but I really enjoyed it.

Chilli Peps were absolutely one of my favorite groups growing up who i still sort of cling to and hope they'll make another great album, but they've sucked for years i think. Other bands in this group would be Metallica, Beastie Boys, Soundgarden, and Alice. Chilli Peppers and Metallica specifically irk me. The Peps totally lost their edge, and just play shit music for girls anymore. But I think their 80's and 90's shit was unreal. Mother's Milk is my fav, then i go with blood sugar and uplift mofo party plan. Don't forget they had george clinton produce their album Freaky Styley. They used to kick ass but i've pretty much lost my loyalty to them when it appears to me that they're stuck on recreating californication. Which i was not a fan of.

Saw them twice live in the late 90's and early 2000's and they put on a killer show, although were upstaged by Queens of the Stone Age and the second one, i thought.

Like them.

The movie they were in was maybe Thrashing?

Also keidis was in point break.

I seem to remember flea being in some punk rock 80s movie to but I forget the name.

Oh yea, and Hilel Slovak was their best guitarist. Damn you heroin!

Trivia: Before they got big, they were in a movie. What was it? (no googling....y/r)

Dammit i should know this. I know it's not the Chase cause they were already big. I can throw out also that flea was in back to the future and antwan the swan in POINT BREAK shooting his foot off.

One of my favorite bands. Although I think they have been going slowly downhill since Californication.

One of the best, and under-appreciated bands of all time.

They have some iffy albums, but who doesn't?

love'em. one of the best. kiedis bio is the only book ive ever read that wasn't required for school. also would recommend funky monks doc, which is available here:

Saw them play on the orange stage at Roskilde over ten years ago. Played a lot of the songs from By The Way before it was released. Underrated album IMO.

My favorite track from it was never released as a single:

Great band, really one of my top favorites, Slovak was a great man, shame he had too be taken so early, because of his problems. John came in and really took them over the top, his solo on Mellowship Slinky in B Minor is one of my favorites.

They peaked for me with Blood Sugar Sex Magik, everything since then has just been blegh imo.

Fucking horrible and after reading scar tissue I came to the conclusion Anthony keidis is a nob talent druggie...ayyooo listen to what i have to sayohhhh...gay.

Great band overall. I still remember their performance at Woodstock 99 as a great moment. Haven't really kept up with their most recent stuff.

Saw them live twice many years ago, they are great to watch jam, but Anthony Kiedis' live vocals definitely leave a little bit to be desired.

I could write a whole essay about them here, but I'll refrain.

I think Blood Sugar is one of the greatest albums ever released, and many of their other albums are great, but Stadium Arcadium was rubbish. There weren't even enough good songs to fill one CD. I'm With You is much better than that one.

One Hot inute was great too, I'm not sure why people hate on it. There wasn't really anything boring on there like Stadium or some of the other newer albums.

I consider John Frusciante a bit of a genius. Much of his solo stuff is mind-blowing and really beats anything the band did since Californication.

Unfortunately, I think it's become pretty cool to hate the Chili Peppers in recent years.

Gonna see them at coachella this year.

As they got older they lost some of the funk sound that I really enjoyed from their earlier work, but I suppose that happens and I don't hate them for it.

very entertaining band.
