Well well well...

This is a lovely surprise. I was playing it emulated on the 360 emulator (Xenia) last year. It looked great upscaled to 4K, but I started running into crashes before my PC died and I lost my progress.

Hopefully Rockstar put more into this port. It's recommending a 2070, so they must have added a few things to improve the look. Native HDR is at least one confirmation.

More importantly, this opens things up to modding, should be some good times ahead.

With it coming to Switch, I imagine it will work well on Steam Deck too!

Edit* A few more details

"In collaboration with Double Eleven, this new version adds PC-specific enhancements including native 4K resolution at up to 144hz on compatible hardware, monitor support for both Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9), HDR10 support, and full keyboard and mouse functionality. There’s also support for NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 upscaling technologies, NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and more."

Nice! I def preferred RDR2 with M&K and ultrawide, always loved the scenery.

Even when I was playing it emulated, the sky box was beautiful. Will be nice to see it native 4k, or 1440p on monitor.

It's also nice they went with a better porting partner than what they did for GTA3, VC and SA, what debacle that was!

It's been on Switch (and PS4) for almost a year now. The latter can be played at 4k 60 on a PS5.
You should try emulating the Switch version on Ryujinx, it runs better than 360 emulation.

Lol, I didn't even know it was on switch and PS4/5 or maybe just forgot.

How did they handle the port?

When a game studio begins re-releasing old titles its a sign that theyre running out of ideas, having liquidity problems and future releases are having development problems.

Really good ports.

It's ok. They take a short cut here but they are also working on GTA 6. I rather them take their time making the game instead of rushing to meet a deadline.

Obligatory graph says it all. However, aren't they still making a killing on GTA5 online?

If they have nothing in fhe pipeline outside GTA6, they might as well remaster Bully and GTA IV. I'd especially love the latter with some quality of life updates, like better mission checkpoints. Niko's the goat GTA protag!

It is, unfortunately for them its their only revenue stream. Which places heavier emphasis on getting GTA6 online monetization activated while getting GTA5 players over to GTA6 online ASAP.

When Take Two announced 5% of staff layoffs and trimming ~300 million in development costs earlier this year. They also announced a new Max Payne game was still in development.

That made my night.
I know the Max Payne 1/2 remakes are coming, combining the titles as one single game (super intrigued) Remedy is making it with Rockstar publishing/funding apparently? Regardless, I'm excited for it.

I haven't seen anything about Max Payne 4 though, just did a light search. @KaNesDeath were you talking about the remakes?

I loved a lot of Max Payne 3, but I always hated his Heisenberg with a Hawaiian shirt look. The early portions with him in New York were my fav, but the gunplay was always gold throughout. I'm looking forward to Noir Max in the big apple!

It's been a long time coming. I'll definitely replay it again. It's always fun to me to play a console game and then experience it in a different way playing it again on PC with max settings and on a monitor. Totally different feelings.

Plus aiming and shooting with a mouse is so much fun although it does kinda break the game's difficulty.
