Well well well...
This is a lovely surprise. I was playing it emulated on the 360 emulator (Xenia) last year. It looked great upscaled to 4K, but I started running into crashes before my PC died and I lost my progress.
Hopefully Rockstar put more into this port. It's recommending a 2070, so they must have added a few things to improve the look. Native HDR is at least one confirmation.
More importantly, this opens things up to modding, should be some good times ahead.
With it coming to Switch, I imagine it will work well on Steam Deck too!
Edit* A few more details
"In collaboration with Double Eleven, this new version adds PC-specific enhancements including native 4K resolution at up to 144hz on compatible hardware, monitor support for both Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9), HDR10 support, and full keyboard and mouse functionality. There’s also support for NVIDIA DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0 upscaling technologies, NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings, and more."
Nice! I def preferred RDR2 with M&K and ultrawide, always loved the scenery.
Even when I was playing it emulated, the sky box was beautiful. Will be nice to see it native 4k, or 1440p on monitor.
It's also nice they went with a better porting partner than what they did for GTA3, VC and SA, what debacle that was!
