I been boxing for sometime and recently I got in to weight training for strength. That being said, I feel I am having a hard time recovering from both activities.

Three things that I have helped me are:

1. Hot and cold shower, I feel a lot more refreshed and experiencing quicker recovery

2. Static stretching before bed also helps me sleep better which results in better recovery.

3. Avoiding loud noise as well a stressful situations (Ken Shamrock mentioned this in his book as well)

That being said, how do MMA fighters recover from various disciplines? I want to learn more about workout recovery.

That, radox muscle soak baths, and Fish oils (10-20 a day), a multi, 4,000 ius vitamin d and plenty of steak, kale and protein shakes.

Also foam rolling (have one at home and sometimes the gym ones after lifting) and most powerful of all the sauna (post workout).

Well, most powerful after 10 hours sleep that is....

Do what the Diaz brothers do. If you catch my drift.

When weight training you have to be careful and not lift to much, when I was addicted to lifting I went to the gym 6 days a week but back then I did not have nor care about learning how to do it right, anyway 3 or 4 days a week max or you will be where I was going a month with no increase in strength. If you are endurance training with with your boxing regiment I would not lift more than twice a week because without muscle recovery you will see no gains almost like being stuck in quicksand

When you first start lifting your max goes up like crazy the first year then that body gets stubborn

The thing that helps me the most is pushing SELECT in between rounds.

You can try swimming after workout. Helps me a lot - muscles dont get stuck with blood.

I need help recovering after Bellator 149.
