Im not really sure how GSP can be considered one of the p4p greats when he has not finished a fight since 2009. He goes 5 rounds against people that he should be able to finish like Alves and Hardy. when I see Anderson Silva fight I know that somebody is gonna get KTFO. When I see GSP fight I know im going to see a five round boring jab-takedown fest.Dont people hate on Fitch for the same thing? If GSP fights Silva I just dont see GSP being able to do much. IMO it is not even an exciting fight. I would much rather see a superfight between Dos Santos-Jones,Jones-Silva. If I had to choose a superfight for GSP I would like to see GSP vs Bendo. What is your take on this?

just because he doesnt finish, doesnt me he doesnt dominate his opponent. he is definitely a p4p great. would i like to see him finish his opponents? sure. but im not gonna knock him for it. he's beat down of carlos was very impressive

But,but...it's because he's fighting the best guys out there like Hardy,Shields...
He only finished back then when he was fighting 5 ft 2 LW's like Penn,Sherk and Serra.

making a guy useless by completely neutralizing them for 5 rounds can sometimes be a better indicator of skill

no one says fitch is a bad fighter either.

its in your best interest to actually watch these fights and understand where the fighters he fought were ranked in the world at the time

yea because GSP fights " guys" not the best in the world number 1 contender or anything

did you find GSP/Fitch, GSP/Condit boring.?

and hes considered a great because he has beaten every man he has ever fought, dominates great fighters by making them look like cans and has defended the WW belt longer than any fighter ever.

fucking idiot

Manny Pacquiao hasn't finished a guy since 2009. How can he be considered one of the P4P greats?

Did you just start watching MMA?! Horrible thread.

GSP has fought 4 P4P top ten in his title-defense streak at the time of the fight: Fitch, Penn, Alves and Shields. That's more than Silva or any other champ. He won anywhere from 32 - 40 straight rounds in championship bouts - more than Silva and more than anyone in history. He has fought and beaten more top 10 opponents than anyone in history and in his title-defense streak. He has landed more strikes than anyone in history. Highest striking defense %. One of the highest significant strikeslanded/attempt % in history. Highest takedown % in history along with one of the highest takedown defense % in history. Is on 7 title-defense steak. Has a lower height-compared-to-division stat than Silva's higher-height-compared-to-division stat. Oh no, GSP warrants no comparison . . . *sarcasm*

I like GSP, but trying to justify his lack of finishes by saying that a dominant decision is better is idiotic. People fight GSP, and they still keep their senses and limbs intact. Anderson crushes and humiliates his opponents, it's not even in the same league.

GSP absolutely tools his opponents, which is much more impressive than silva, who dropped numerous rounds in the UFC.

The main reason people find GSP boring is because he doesn't push the pace enough. Why should he? He's making millions a year to win, not to entertain you.

If anything his opponents should be to blame. Whenever an opponent brings it to GSP, such as condit and Fitch, it becomes an awesome fight. GSP only goes as hard as his opponents make him.

When you fight GSP, you know he's going to take you down. It makes people fight conservatively.

Also, GSP is smart. He doesn't take unnecessary risks. He dominates people and breaks their will because he can. On the other hand, Anderson Silva's primary weapon is his striking. Great strikers finish fights.

They're very different fighters. Because of this, people want to see them fight each other.

anderson toys with his guys, and hes definitely greater but no one was making that argument

as for
" but trying to justify his lack of finishes by saying that a dominant decision is better is idiotic."

I disagree, I think GSP embarrasses his opponents much more. If I was chael, Henderson, or lutter, I wouldn't feel as bad, because had things gone differently that night, they might have won. Believe it or not, not all rematches end up like the first fight, so there's a chance a rematch would end different.

GSP however completely outclassed his opponents in every aspect of the sport, most of his opponents are never even in the fight, and would have no chance in a rematch.

Just how I feel about it.
