Realistically, Strickland has 0% chance, right?

History has shown the only way to beat Adesanya is either by wrestlefuck or KO... Outpointing him is practically impossible, especially when there is no KO/Grappling threat... Strickland style of high volume jab point fighting will never work, he'll keep his distance and destroy his legs for 5 rounds. Terrible matchup.

Sean would jab Izzys head constantly atleast, he wouldn't do bad as you all think and he should wrestle Izzy too if he has just little sub game he may sub Izzy

Anytime you get top level fighters in there, there is never 0% chance. This sport at the top level has a very low margin for error and one mistake or good game plan can be the end of it. However, I think it’s safe to say stylistically Israel should and will be a heavy favorite. But the fanbase at large has been very, very wrong many times.

Watch Strickland be to Izzy as Weidman to Silva...

It's hard to imagine he could press a volume advantage on Izzy without getting brutally countered all night, and better wrestlers have failed to grapple Izzy effectively.

The odds are never 0, but it's not a promising match up.

It's MMA and there's always something that can happen. Adesanya could hurt his leg on a check and it could be game over.

But we all know what you're saying - Stylistically, the matchup really does seem like a no-brainer. Izzy's only challenge is if he could do it better than Pereira.

Strickland would have to fight the perfect fight. And throw his usual method out the window. Force a brawl, get in close, look for a trip and got hunting for a sub.

But he hasn't shown a willingness to fight away from his shadow boxing style in a long time. That's not the best style obviously against a person that's significantly better than him.

Izzy is very good but doesn't come across as unbeatable. He doesn't have that GSP or Anderson aura where you knew with GSP, you were in for a 50-45 night every time. Jan honestly made that fight look easy and Jan isn't some world beater. It just took the right gameplan and style.

I don't think Strickland's tip toe boxing styling is going to cause any problems for Izzy but he can be aggressive and he's a pretty big guy so you knew know. My main point is, Izzy doesn't feel invincible at all.

I don't see a path for Strickland winning, the tools just aren't there. His entire game literally plays right into Izzy's and when you add in that Strickland doesn't have much power, then yeah I'd say he's got a very little chance here.
Best shot he's got is if Izzy does something stupid while trying to showboat and catches him on the chin, Izzy just doesn't do that and is very defensibly responsible on the feet.
Like he might be able to drag it out by playing it safe which could lead to a dull fight, but trying to point fight with a guy like Izzy is very fucking difficult.

No such thing as zero percent in MMA. All it takes is for Izzy to have an off night or for Strickland add some new wrinkles to his game. Plus there is always a punchers chance

That said Izzy should win comfortably
