what he has been able to do in such a short time has been pretty amazing

But how much would losing a 2nd Diaz fight hurt his brand.

I would imagine the cut to 145lb would be extremely hard on his body moving forward, and at 155 he would lose a bunch of fights.

After two consecutive losses, the hype train would be running out of steam... You can convince idiots of anything, though.

His celebrity is still fairly large, but his brand can only weaken from here on out. Regardless of what he does.

I don't agree

If conor went on and anderson silva/ jon jones/gsp kind of run his brand would only get bigger.

But he isn't any of those fighters i just named, he had a really hard road ahead of him, and i could easily see him losing his next 2 fights.

So, you disagree with me, but you agree?

Another loss to Diaz would have killed his credibility as a main event fighter. My guess is that he takes like 6 months off then makes a comeback against someone other than Diaz

He was never that big....Aldo vs Conor literally had like a year of hype....Seriously, since aldo pulled out, it gave the fight even more hype.

All of Conor's headline PPV, had Co-Main Event title fights.....and a good card.

Conor lost his mystique when he mentally quit against Nate Diaz...He didn't show the heart he claimed to had, at all.

Casuals only liked Conor because they thought he had balls....the more he loses, the more people dont give a shit about em.

Nate beating him against would've destroyed his stock so he pulled out.

if Conor really retired, it was a good move. Not a conor fan by the way. I supposed it's better to retired with 1 loss in UFC vs staying with multiple losses. Right now, Conor still looks okay despite the loss to Nate. Now Imagined 3-4 losses added to his record. He will practically be a nobody considered all the hype.

Funny thing is Rousey only 2 big ppvs, every other ppv she headlines south of 600k

I

100% sustainable. If people were shelling out money consistently to see Rousey's gargoyle ass, then Mcgregor could've have keep that shit up for another few years.

He'd still end his career with more PPV sales than Brock Lesnar.

if he would have lost to diaz, then i doubt his next ppv would have been that big.
Lesnar main evented five events selling 1.01m+1.6m+1.06m+900k+535k = 5.105m PPV sales.
McGregor already has 825k+1.2m+1.5m = 3.525m PPV sales.
If he sold 1.6m at UFC 200, he'd already have outsold Lesnar. And with his fifth event, against Edgar or Aldo, he would increase that lead further.

did all of conors ppv's have two title fights on it?
