Eddie has never had any issues making weight and has looked much smaller than McGregor, Pourier and Gaethje

Yes, I know hes a former champion, but another former LW champion in Pettis went down and had minor success

And now that Holloway could be out, Ortega soon to move up, Aldo is getting old, Frankie is getting older, Mendes is still juicing, and Jeremy Stephers is still a gate keeper, the division is up for grabs until Zabit takes over

After this fight, I doubt hit, he's kinda shop worn, if someone with the hitting power of Poirier can put him on queer street. Max Holloway would drown him inside 2 rounds.

I love Eddie, but he just can't hang with the best strikers in the game, he needs to go back to his wrestling and drive his fucking takedowns.

Eddie is 34 which is way too old for someone in the lighter divisions. He should hang it up IMO.

wtf are you talking about, Dustin has 12 KO wins he has good power

He's smaller than those guys but that's because he's short and stocky. He's not light. He used to fight at 170. And he's 34 and only getting older. He's also already made the most money he's ever gonna make by fighting Conor. So, no.

He'd have to lose a lot of muscle. Just not worth the effort.

That wasn't a dis to his hitting power. He's got power and volume. But after tonight, someone like Max would outright drown him. Dustin has good power, not scary KO power like someone like Conor. I give Max a bit more because he's got that stinger of a 1 2 that's dropped everyone he's touched with it.

Dude Eddie is long on the tooth for his career. All he should do now is fight somewhere non USADA and smash cans for huge pay then retire. No reason for him to sign with the UFC again.

It's clear when a fighter is still "high level" but "past prime." Him and Frankie Edgar are both of these.

But like Vitor, he can give us some crazy shows the next few years outside the UFC.

Eddie is super dense and obviously he's jacked. His height and reach is more appropriate for a modern featherweight but the reality is he would have to drop a lot of muscle mass on top of a brutal weight cut.

His cut to 155 is no joke, he's got absurdly low body fat and does a hard water cut.

Jesus Christ....

Things have not gone well for anyone moving from 155-145....

Can you imagine what would happen if Eddie fought the likes of Max, Aldo, and Mendes? It wouldn't be pretty.

I think many are forgetting 145 is possibly the best division in MMA.

Things would not be easier. He’d get crushed at FW as well. No need to drop down.

bow did he look smaller? let me guess? height lol. eddie weighs close to 180 in cage. poirier is 170.

Eddie needs to learn how to strike.

he throws his entire body behind everything and gets tagged. if he wasnt so tough I'd nominate him as worst mma boxer in lw

fuck no.

dude is wide and thick.

He's about the same size as Conor although he looks smaller and Conor couldn't have a long career @ FW.

Alvarez is short but he's stocky. He's very strong and would have to cut muscle to drop down.

I think he would be on the same spot at FW. And that spot is not with the belt. But maybe it would be easier to get a title shot.

How he makes ww is shocking, considering he is built like a short bodybuilder

he doesn't have the striking to consistently beat the top guys at LW, and he'd have even more of a speed problem at FW.
